No video link on the ezone thread at this time. I hope to have one up within the next 24 hours as four video cameras were turning. Ronnies pictures were outstanding though.

Congrats Ed on maiden, she is looking great. Can't wait to see the video.....
I'm looking for one of these Goony birds also, i would even consider if it needs rebuilt. If there is one out there, i like to know about it. Lost interest project will do good to me also. Thanks

Attached is short video of first flight after being in a dark bedroom for over a decade. She is a delight to fly and I look forward to many more. Electric is the only way to go with a big twin. It's a dream come true for me. I hope all enjoyed the rebuild. ed

I viewed it a couple of hours ago, ok then. I dont know about electric. I like the simplicity, but the sound! It'll have to grow on me. I'm still messing around with the smaller electrics for the time being. Nothing bigger than a 480 sized outrunner. Otherwise, I love it. Beautiful job.

Electric, gas, fuel, rubber band who cares the big bird flew and flew well. Two weed eater motors barking away makes a lot of sense as does any fuel motor. None can and will never sound like the big P&W motors. As you say I love the simplicity of it all knowing when I advance the throttles and the motors start up that most likely they will be running when I cut them at the end of the flight. I watched two multi engined model spend several hours trying to get everything running to make one flight. I was asked what time I would be flying and I give them 10:45. Did the preflight on the line, called contact, pulled some power and at 10:45 the chocks were pulled and I headed out. No muss, no fuss, no damn paper towels and 409 after wards. Make the call but above all have fun. As the man said "To each his own". ed

Very very nice Ed, she looks sweet in the air once again where it belongs!...I'm coming to a point that electrics are the way to go with twins and multi engines but never the less gassers are good too. Glow is different story but smaller scale models and if one can't afford multi engine model powered by electrics, then i'd say glow is the way to go...

RE: Ziroli DC-3
Just as a heads up, maybe teasing a little, I'm currently building a 1/5th 9 cyl gas radial. And if things go well, I'll build another and install both in a blown up-from zerolli prints-1/5 scale version of his DC-3. I am building currently a 1/5 Dehaviland Beaver to be powered by my said engine. For those wonderful builders who go big or go home, I admire ya!!!! Currently I'm scared out of my mind with the what ifs, and if I can even finish the projects and have the courage to actualy fly them!!!!!!!!! So, wonderful thread, I hope you all enjoy your works of art you've created. Wish me luck.

RE: Ziroli DC-3
Hello,
I know it has ben a lng time but I would like ot ask you some questions regarding the Ziroli C-47 you built. I am currently building one and have found your posts very useful, thanks for putting them up. Where did you get the scale dimensions for the large set of aft doors. Did you eventually cut the crutch out? Did you do anything to strengthen the fuselage being that you cut such a large opening for the doors? What hinges did you eventually use? Could you explain a little better how you started and constructed the frame first?
Thanks
Mike

You can cut the crutch, all it is for the alignment. Nothing more. The skin is what takes the load. I used 1/2a control horns cut down for door hinges with size 0 screws. Or better yet are Robart mini hinges with the knuckle facing outward. Not my airplane,I went with the single door.

I recently bought one of these built and sheeted, and have been working on her for about three weeks. I can help thinking ahead on how the fuel tanks are mounted. Does anyone have pics of how they placed and installed theirs? Thanks in advance..

RE: Ziroli DC-3
i think everyone built their tail sections quite light...with the short nose moment,
its not tail heavy but...nose light.
Does anyone know the sweet spot cg on the ziroli dc3?
thanks guys
