Byron Originals used to sell a Beech Baron kit. I dont recall what sized engines it was made for but I would think the OS55's would be a good choice for it. The hard part would be finding one that either hsnt been started or is well built and in decent shape.

I was thinking about the Byron Baron but for some reason was thinking it was bigger than it was and the 55's wouldn't be enough. But your probably right. That was a beauty for sure.

I don't know if this has been brought up since I have read the last page of this thread but what about the A-26? What has happened to them? It's like they disappeared from the Internet. I think AX-55s might be too small for the 92 inch ASM and too big for most of the 68 inch VQs but as I recall the 68 inch Global/VQ Counter Invader took up to 40s so the 55 with a 3 bladed prop would fit nicely. But again, they seemed to have dropped of the Internet and that's unusual since old data is kept for a long time.
