Cool what's a good slick airframe for a pair of OS55ax's

Hi everyone, I've been wanting a new twin to add to my hanger, and I have two brand new OS 55ax engines that I'm thinking would do nicely. I'd like to find a good quality arf model that I can do some mods to for lighting and such.
Heres a list of of what I'd like to do,
1. enough room in the nassells to hide the pitts style exhaust
2. be able to install electric retracts
3. install scale like lighting
4, a slippery airframe that can handle speed and power
5, something that looks realistic, not toy like

Any ideas fellas? This is something I've been wanting to do for a while now. But, I've not found what I'm really looking for yet.

thanks , but I was looking for something fast that would slow down well too. I know the 310 is an excellent airframe , but I was thinking something a little less mainstream. I do appreciate your advice though. any further suggestion's are more than welcome...

So you are looking for an ARF twin that will take OS 55's that is a little less mainstream....good luck. Based on your description the Cessna 310 would have been my suggestion also.

That I was going to suggest but it is already here. Seagull had a twin Piper Comanche,Horizon Had them, but they may be discontinued.

thanks fella's. well, I'm not above building a nice kit for my 55's, I just can't seem to find one thats laser cut and reasonably priced. so the search continues. by the by there doc, I do like me some seagull planes, I have three. two ultimates, 90&46 size and an extra 330. lovem. just think that their version of the comanche looks a little hoakie. i'm wanting something slick and fast. preferably without a greenhouse for a cockpit. thanks again everyone and keep those suggestions coming

How about a Duelist? The kits come up for sale now and then but they are not cheap.

on my phoenix simulator there is , under scale models , a beech 58 twin, would this be a beech craft model in real life? I ask this way because apparently some mfg's didn't let them use there real name for what ever reason. this plane is more like what I'm looking for. thanks

I just purchased a Cessna 310 made by TMZ/IMEX from Gravesrc. I plan on putting 2 OS AX 55's in it or 2 OS 91 Four Strokes. It calls for 60-91 Four strokes.

looks like thats about all thats out there any more . I don't know how these company's figure out what to make that modeler's actually want . lesson in duality I guess. most of it looks to toyish for me. don't get me wrong , the 310 is a nice bird and all. I'd just like to see/have something different. FAST. I can't afford to fly jet's and batteries are ok , but no substitute for a glowhead like me. my 55's are new and their nice running and I'm sure I can get some speed with them as well as that dual 2strk sound which sounds so killer screamin by all wound out. looks like the only thing I'm gonna be able to do to get what I have in mind is to build it and see what happens.

I was just down at graves for their swapmeet. took a look around inside, but did see anything I really wanted. nice facility though. were you at in the south east?I'm in summerfield, just north of the villages

I'm in PSL right on the Martin/St Lucie County Line. I have a Royal C47 almost ready for paint ( just some minor sanding and filling left) It's been sitting for a while. If anyone is interested.

The closest is RC revo in West Palm. One of the guys at the field gave me a card the other day about a new shop in Sebastian called BT Hobby. www.bthobby.com He says they have a large selection of rc stuff in stock but I am yet to go on the website or the shop itself. I will check the site out after posting this as you just reminded me about the card he gave me. On another note, I just got that 310 from FedEx in one day (I ordered it yesterday morning) It's beautiful!! I am going to put the Four stroke 91's in it as it is pretty big and I have two of them laying around. I'm sure the 55's would be enough power as it calls for 52-60 2 stroke or 61-91 four strokes. I'd rather have the reserve power and save on the fuel as well.

As would I my friend ,but I have two new 55's and only one 91. it's on a glider tug that I built out of a 60 size trainer. My in laws live in boynton beach and I know my father in law told me awhile back that three gee's closed in wp. that was a nice store. I have two that are well stocked within 20 miles or so.

Thats gonna be sweet with 2 91's on it . well worth the extra weight and wing loading . easy trade off for all that torque. does that kit come with any nav lights? Do you have any Idea what the AUW will end up being?

If you come get the C47 you can have it for 75 bucks I have all the decals and fixed gear. The 310 is almost done just the cowls, Decals and the switch left to do, it should come in around 12 pounds, I put the AX 55's in it.

what changed your mind about running the 91's? that's alot of power, but also alot of torque what with both props going the same direction. and 'Damn' you don't waste any time do ya??? that's looking killer. I'll let you know about the C47. is that thing all fiberglass or built up balsa. I always thought one of those would look cool set up as a gunship like the spectre
