Lack of twins
This may sound like a stupid question but why are there not more twins to buy? The Top Flight Cessna 310 was great as well as the Hanger 9 Twin Otter. Not sure why these were discontinued? I know RC Aerodyne has a Baron. Does anyone knopw of anymore in the 46 to 55 glow range?
Thanks

Hi Heliman,
To answer your question I think it is a matter of how many people want to deal with the extra costs & complexity of a twin or multi engine model. If there was a strong demand for such models you would see more. It really is economics that drives the market and so you will see from time to time twins show up in the catalog of your favorite supplier in Champaign . Unless it is Really Popular the model will be in stock until the production run is consumed, and then it will be gone.
That is how it goes nowadays. Allot of nice models are done but, if there isn't a sustained demand, they're gone in a year or two. Good luck finding parts for an ARF twin too
I have a friend who produces twin seaplane kits and he would be hard pressed to try and make a living from making and selling kits. I think he does it for the love of seeing them fly. Luckily he is retired now and is not dependent on kit sales to pay the bills as it were.
So if you really want twins, start buying allot of them and maybe you will see more come out !
