I am about to start an ASM C130 Hercules that I've had around for a bit..... going to be electric powered..... am Interested in what motors and speed co speed controllers others have used and also is it best to use a BEC or keep the radio electrics separate..... not had an electric model this big before with as many servos

With a big model like that you're going to want to power the rx from its own battery pack or packs.

For 5 bucks you can buy a UBEC from Hobby King.

I would go with two Castle Pro BECs. Can plug them into a power safe RX, or isolate them with diodes. I have been running giant multi engine (motor) electrics this way for some time
There is some good info in this thread https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...or-Giant-Scale
