Hi, I'm new to this forum and my interests are the multi-engine C-130, C-119 RC. I'm thinking of getting a 130-87 design and have it cut. Has anybody used All-American kit cutters? I've been reviewing some past posts and find it very helpful. The last time I built an RC was a piper that my Dad an I built back in the 50's, so I have a lot of catching-up to do. Thanks... David...

I got my 87" from Precision Cut Kits and it was shipped the same day I order it. Also, the parts are cut great.

Thanks AlabamaRaptor for the info. I'll look into the cutters you used. How do you transport you 87 to the field? Do the wings come-off? Hope you have had a good Thanksgiving... David...

I transport it in 3 peices. The fuselage with the center wing section and the 2 wing ends. You have to make the wings removable.

Looks good Beplo! Did you invert the engines 90 degrees? I was thinking of inverting mine 80 degrees.

Looks good Beplo. I ordered a Quality Fibreglass C-130 back in May. Not to sure what is going on with the Company. I was hoping to have it so I could finish it this winter. Oh well. Still a lot more other aircraft to build. Your C-130 is top notch.

Craig.

Hi everybody! This is JumpSeat and I want to say thanks to you-all for this thread, especially to AlabamaRaptor, C130Nut, Rryman, Jimcork1, Gunny11, Fossil, and all the rest of you.

I'm new at building models and I have gone through all 49 pages and really have found a lot of good information. I'm x-USAF SAC and JumpSeat as my handle as all my off duty hours I would go on flights of all sort in the jump seat; made a lot of "crew" friends during years in...
So thanks for this forum- from the looks of it, it will take years to build this things; I ordered a C-130 132 from Palmer last week, so I'm just getting started. Thanks again to all of you... David...

That Muffler installation looks great. Is it a commercialy available? Hope you plan to insulate the tank somehow. The exhaust of these little nitro engines do tend to get hot. Also the pic with the tank shown is the plumbing reversed? Meaning the vent would be going to the bottom of the tank instead of the top. Just asking. sometimes we tend to overlook the obvious.

No, that Muffler is not commercial available.

Also the pic with the tank shown is the plumbing reversed?
no, it was placed on the base for the photo.
It is to turn upside down.

The exhaust of these little nitro engines do tend to get hot.

O.k.

I'm back. Got back into the building season. Hope to finish the herk this winter.

After being discusted with all the ripples in my original cores and extra splices in the span of the wing, I opted to duplicate the wing cores, airfoil and washout and cut my own coars. I have been working on my wing plans (auto-cad) and I'm adding a splice between the out-board flap and ail. I also have designed a simulated fowler flap. etc. etc.

I'll be back.

Gunny

AUTOCAD MECHANICAL and I also aquired a HP DESIGN JET printer/ plotter. No problems with printing long wing spans, since the paper is on a 150 foot roll.

Gunney- I was interested in suppliers for glues & materials that I'll be needing. I should be getting my kit next week- I'm so excited!

For gluing to fiberglass I only use the best. (BVM Aeropoxy) [link]http://www.bvmjets.com/Tools/aeropoxy.htm[/link] A substitute can be [link]http://zap.supergluecorp.com/pt45.html[/link] And for gluing into foam I use Elmers Pro Bond Poly Urathane glue or Gorrila glue. These two can be purchased in Sears or Home Depot.
