All you Duellist Fans!!
Hey all,
I think I'm done, I think I'm done! It's probably a good thing I did not build this from the ground up. I bought it from a older gentleman in our club who was never gonna finish it. It was mostly framed up but still needed alot of carving and sanding thats for sure. I went ahead and glassed it and painted it. It was the first time for me so it was a good learning experience.
2 46 fx engines with pipes and 9x8 props. Should be good enough. (I hope)
Spring air retracts which came with the plane. I only paid 150 for the plane and retracts so I believe it was a good deal.
Well here's the pics....Thanks all.

Yes it was the first time for glassing not painting.
Thanks for the compliments.
All up weight is 10.5 lbs. I'm not sure if that is too heavy or not.
I'm ready to go Auger any time...hehe It could be interesting!
Thanks all, Ken

It definitely looks faster than it probably is.
There should be some video. I have my video setup going now so there will be a camera running even on the test flight just in case....

Ken:
I'm too conser5vative to be seen with a paint job like that, but when I was building racing cars I put some out with schemes just as bad, Or good, depending on your point of view. Regardless, it's very well done. Congratulations.
Weight? Ten and a half pounds is also very good. It's easy to get a Duellist up to twelve pounds, and fourteen isn't hard.
Bill.

Well it's good to know that 10 1/2 pounds is ok. The plans say 8 to9 so I was tripping on it a little bit.
Thanks , Ken

Bill, that is one of the "partially framed up" Duellists I had a line on around here. I missed my chance to buy it, Ken got it off the guy that bought it before I got it. He did the retracts over to get a little more ground clearance. Went with separate aileron servos and dual throttle servos, too. I loaned my Duellist as a guide (you can see the nose of mine in last pic of #2).

Well, Jeff, maybe it's just as well that neither you nor I got it.
Had I gotten it it definitely would not have such a fantasatic paint job, don't know about you.

Nine pounds is extremely optimistic, and eight approaches impossible.

Wind this time of year can be a real PTA. I went out this past Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday.
On Sunday I watched others having "Fun" in the gusting wind, Monday I was fortunate getting the plane down without damage, then Wednesday I did, as I said go out, but I was playing with r/c boats. Thursday was boats too. Generally can ignore the wind with a power boat.

Actually I paint for a living so it's a mix and match of a bunch of stuff. It's all automotive paint for sure just a whole bunch of whatever was laying around. The red was lessonal viper red and the yellow is lessonal canary yellow and the orange is House of Kolor tangleo orange and the clear was Sikkens. I forgot which primer I used but it was a filling primer.
