I balanced mine with wheels "UP" and it fly's like a trainer. Wheels down just adds a bit of added nose weight to make the landing easy as can be. I have the Zenoa 20E on mine, so I am very curious how your DLE20RE performs as I love the rear exhaust and carb to keep from the cutting the cowl up. I have bought new cowls and PTE36 rear carb & exhaust for a future update.
The 20's fly great,just wont do any loops from level flight but the DLE's may have the extra power needed. I love how the OV-10 looks on steep full flap approaches. You can sit her down on a dime.

hi guys cheers for the info reference C of G , will balance wheels up, as for the paint masks i did them all myself, got a small vinyl plotter, idea for making paint masks and stickers, though Bronco is all paint masks, as for the paint its Klass Kote.

I was going to ask if I could buy a set of those masks from you, but saw where you are located.
Any chance you'd be willing to share the cut files? I have a friend that does vinyl.
I wouldn't want to use your more unique wartog-ish nose markings, but the standard MARINES and star-bars would be very useful.

At long last, my old horse left the ground.
It flew well, but the right engine busted a motor mount bolt. The other 3 mounts seem to have torn through the firewall which allowed the engine to sag in the cowling during flight. Luckily, this resulted in the throttle pushrod pulling the motor back to idle. When I heard the engine go down, I was in a good part of the sky so I just pulled throttle back to idle and brought her in.
As I landed, the right main gear came apart. The spring pin that served as the axle of the "knee" joint in the retract had worked its way out during the flight, As I touched down, the trailing link kicked back out of the way and the landing was completed on the bare end of the main strut. Made a horrible sound scraping on the pavement.
So, I'm lucky to have it back in one piece. I believe now that my problems stem from an unblanced prop on the right side. It started last week when I was tuning the engine and the prop bolts backed out. I didn't think anything of it. Actually, I thought I just hadn't tightened the bolts well.
Today when I was doing the final mixture tuning, I noticed that there was some excess shaking on that motor. But I pressed ahead, which shouldn't have happened. The broken mount and the missing spring pin both point to excess vibration as the cause. I should have stopped and chased down what was probably an out of balance prop. As I said, I'm lucky it is still in one piece.

And if it returned what improvements would you like to have ???
This is just a query... nothing is planned as of now.... but I love the BRONCO ...

1000% YES Same size, round the corners of the Tail Booms, fully sheeted flying and control surfaces, no lighting holes in the booms and mounts for Scale Retracts, oh an A or D Nose Option. Or everything I did to the one JohnG now has...Don

Pretty sure I also balance mine on wing tube. If memory serves me well I just used a small rope (cord) looped under spar then up over a broom handle held over plane. Small rope fit between mid wing and outer wings for balance. Was tail heavy and put about 2-1/2 lbs up in the nose.
That reminds me that the retract mounting area should be strengthened if offered again. Bulk heads are way to light and fragile. Also re-designed to fit after market gear like Sierra or Shindin or a good set from factory!!

YES!!!! bring it back..... I'm in!!!!!! I have plans and have been wanting to build it for years but time is short
has to have the short nose, keep it light, I will do twin electric
can I get on an email list to know when and if this comes out?

So... ESM said this design was so old they don't have any of the original molds any more or plans/instructions...
they have moved 2 times since then...
On the table right now we are contemplating new twins... MOSQUITO, P-38....JU-88...new OV-10... all in the 90" range..
decisions , decisions,,, which to do first....

Still prefer the OV10, its a great easy flyer, easy profile to see and a safe twin in most cases. Would prefer to stay at 96 inch wing or a bit larger. But what the hey, I'm a plane junkie and lov-em all.
For anyone interested there is a great design build in progress on rcscalebuilder by Gains Smith.( http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/...TID=24163&PN=1)
He has built two based on the Palmer plans and is in process of designing a better scale version. He may end up offing it as a kit, possibly with fiberglass booms and pod, but it will be some time before he is done. It is in the very early stages. He is a master designer and builder and a kit (if offered) would be second to none.
