Robby,

June 24/25 works for me.

Lets see, a pair of new AX's for my twin tail Twin-Air are already on my purchase plan for this spring. The runway is a little on the short side for my VQ P-61 BlackWidow, but with a little practice time during the coming months and a bit of a headwind... we'll see. And finishing up my Deullist project with the RE engines and tuned pipes is back on top of my task list.

Anyone that is just getting involved in twins, or interested in taking the plunge- this is an excellent opportunity to come out and learn by doing. Robby has a wealth of experience to share.

Ed, are you on for this year too?

Robby, Walt, I have 4 or 5 I think I can get in my mini van. I'll have the Twin Stick and my twin fuselage T-Raider again, but I'll also have my Dusty Deuce, twin engine Diamond Dust delta and a Dual Ace I am currently building & reviewing for R/C Report. If I can find room, I'll bring the Burnelli CBY-3 lifting body scale twin.

I'll be taking photos for my R/C Report column so ya'll come and fly a multi.

Walt-is your buddy going to fly that pusher-puller canard this year?? I'd love to see it.

How about Ernest Fleming? is he ever going to fly the Bobcat Twin???????

Twins all day, both days. You've gotta be there.

OOPs, not to be outdone by Ed, here are some teaser pics! Believe it or not the pic taken during last year's event is the most recent one I have of my Twin-Air.

I'm sure that Abe would be willing, but transport may be a challenge. The 'Widow pretty well eats the interior of my mini-van, even with wings pulled and all the van seats removed..

Walt,

That P-61 is nice, very nice. How does it fly? What do you have for power?

Ed, there's a bunch of info on my P-61 in the VQ BlackWidow thread that Samparfit started last year. I am running a pair of YS 110's that spin 4-blade APC props. With 2-blade props the power is pretty insane, and even with the 4-bladers the plane is very fast and virtually unlimited. But it is actually quite easy to fly with no bad tendencies. Landings are hot but the 'Widow actually glides well and settles nicely.

Some specs and fun facts: 89" WS, approx 23 lbs, sequenced retracts and gear doors, 17 servos. My plane was an ARC that I covered in Ultracoat, the pilot/crew is by CajunRC and I had the graphics custom-made.

Its currently the "top bird" in my hangar (and a real knee-knocker to fly!)

OK, Robby, my motel reservations are made. Count me in.

Don't know if Flaps will be up to it. About a half day is all he can take before he has to go rest.

Just in case anyone does a Google Earth on the McDonough field, that overhead photo is an old one and the RC field is now paved, as is the parking lot.

I put some flight time on my P-61 at the Valley warbird fly-in yesterday. I saw Earnest there and we talked some about the 2/60 Super Deullist. So the real question, can anyone confirm that a Super Duellist will be ready to fly at MOM? Come on guys, its been 2+ years now! There ought to be a squadron of them show up!

I think the wusses are saving them like collectible comic books or something. Where can I get plans? Maybe I can talk Flaps into building one for us. I have a couple of Saito .91s I can use.

Looks like this event is a good reason to finally repair the nose wheel retracts on my Duallist 2/40 & get it back in the air. Lost the flying site I used to fly it from & my current club in Paulding County doesn't have a runway long enough. Guess its been collecting dust for 6-7 years. Does the field have clear approaches?

If Mac Hodges can land his four engine , 20' plane,, you should not have any problem..

Yes,, the approach is almost longer than what you can see on the one side, and is
plenty open on the other..
If someone can land at this field then they can't land..

Welp.... Walt... Guess what....
You get to see Mac's B-29 fly again...

Thats right folks,, Mac has agreed to show off what a
multi engine plane can do on Sat....
And there are some other special happenings that will be going on...

You may be able to see a couple of the new offerings of multi planes
and thanks to the support of distributors as Horizon Hobby and Cedar
Hobbies some lucky people are going to go home with more than they
came with...

So people, get those planes wiped off,, tuned up,, and batteries charged
because this event IS happening....

Very cool, its worth attending just to see the big B-29 in action! I can't imagine anyone reading this thread doesn't already know about the plane, but just in case here is a link: [link=http://www.hodgeshobbies.com/home.html]http://www.hodgeshobbies.com/home.html[/link]

I made the first break-in flight with the new AX engines in my Twin-Air yesterday. I don't know if I'll have enough running time on them before MOM to put the tuned mufflers on, but what a difference compared to the worn out FX's!

There is also a rumor that there could be a pair of 2x60 Deullists at the meet...

I hope there is a good turnout of multi newbies with their twin ARF sport planes too. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from the masters- uh, no I don't mean me, I am just an accomplished beginner!

Bring 'em on!

Everyone at Multis Over McDonough got to see Mac Hodges fly his B-29 and launch the X-1 with Dan Stevens flying. Here's one of Mac checking the B-29 after a flight.
