Kyle.
I'll try to get some pic's. I did not use the wire provided. I like using 55lbs coated leader wire. I use it on all my pull-pull setups. I did not use any gear doors. I tell you it looks good in the air even without the door on it. Does not make a big difference or distraction.

Thanx Ty,
I finally got the gear from Lenny, they look awesome!!! I sent them away to get some electric retracts installed. Should have the Bronco ready to fly in 2 weeks.

Robert, what engines are you going with. I have the Zenoah G-20's in mine and this is the best (Smooth) flying twin I have ever had..

Hi
I do have a pair of Saito 150 NIB that I might use. All depends of how it will look on the A/C
Have seen the A/C flown with a pair of OS 91's but I would like a little more power.

Like I said earlier in the post. I added nothing behind the CG that was not designed there except the retracts. Mine was 32lbs dry. That with all those batteries for nose weight. The saito 150's will be plenty of power. I would figure at least 30 lbs dry flying weight...

Hey guys, i just finished my Bronco electric converison. ready to fly weight with the scale Shindin gear and electric retracts is 28.5 lbs, does that sound like a good flying weight? how well does this bird fly and land at high weights? The KMP website says it's suppose to be 19lbs but the manual says 26.5 lbs. I'd assume with the big wing area this bird would float around the sky. Do you guys use full flaps on takeoff and landings?
Ty, i know yours is 33lbs or so, what about everybody else, what do yours weigh?
Is the CG correct in the manual, 129mm from leading edge? just want to make sure before attempting to fly, mine balances at that point with no extra weight added, got all the batteries up front. Thanx

Kyle,
I'll post pic's and measurements of the crutch later today... Yes the CG is at location marked. I use about 20degrees of flap for take off, it helps the nose rotate, and I have used both full flap and 20 degrees for landing. I perfer 20 degrees for both. This is a really smooth flier...

Here is another landing. I always like to see how well a plane lands. The first video is with full flap and this one is at about 20% flap. The same amount I use to take off with...

That was at the Warbird flyin in the fall. Its a great place to go when the crowd is not there. You won't find a better Warbird flyin to go to. They really take care of you there....

Hey guys, I found a OV10 at a LHS that has been there for about 8 months. I read somewhere that the early production runs had issues. Not sure how early is early? This the D model which I believe is the short nosed version in desert camo. They have it priced at $630, does that sound like a decent deal? Thanks, Jerry.

Sure beats $769.95 plus shipping. I have the "D" kit which is the long nose version. I believe it is the only way they sell it but you can add the optional short nose when order is place. The short nose option was $40 when I purchased mine two years ago and I have no serious issues with kit. I put it on table last night to start build (OK Im a slow starter). I will use two 24cc gas engines. Decided against electrics for more flying time and sound of two gassers. Got the Sierras last year - outstanding gear for this plane with install templets provided.
Got the fever to get it done after visting Gain's house where he is completeing the original Palmer design which this kit is based off (As I understand it). No this ARF does not even come closed to his well built fully "Mega" detailed version. I will set mine at the oposite end of the field, but it still remains a very good ARF for stand off scale and my intended usage. I will have no shame showing this one.
You can still add plenty of detail but it would never be a serious scale event contender.

Looks like we are thinking on similar lines with the gas option. I have not owned a twin before but have been flying gas planes this past year and have not had a single flame out. I'm done with glow except for my Stearman with the radial. I've been flying a modified Senior Telemaster with the Fuji 24cc. What a nice motor, its not electronic which may be a good thing with the limited space in the OV10 for fuel and ignition. Once I get the ARF I"ll have to take the cowls and see if the Fuji will fit.

Seems like all the horror stories I hear about twins are a result of flameouts. I think I can take that issue out of the picture if I put a couple of broken in gas motors in the rig. I won't start this project until Fall, got too many projects left finish before Spring without adding another one. Thanks, Jerry.

The short nose was the latest version. I converted mine to the short nose. I like the looks of the short nose myself.

The G-20 or G-23/26 is a tight fit into the cowl. The muffler sticks out on the side a little. But you won't find a better flying twin. The $630 is a good deal. Read over my thread to see the changes you may need to make.

I have found something else I have to fix. Both the engine nacells are held on by dowls in the front and are only drilled into a balsa leading edge. before you drill your hole you need to add some 1/4" a/c ply behind the leading edge for support. I am having to retro fit mine. The reason I am doing this is that I found a loose dowel while doing preseason maintanance in the leading edge...

Thanks for the tip. I agree the short nose is much better looking - I may place a call to KMP for change. Does anyone know if the Palmer parts from Stan's Fiberglass such as cowls will fit. The cowls on Gain's has very nice inlet detail etc. I will see about comparing his when I can arrange time. Think I will look into it as a future update "After" successful flights are done!!

Ty, you happen to have some closeup shots of the engines after mufflers were installed. I see on page one you have pics before the mufflers and carbs. Would like to see how much hacking the cowls took to fit those G20's. Thanks, Jerry.
