Hay Kmot,
This is killing me...to many models...and no freaken time to build them all. Now a B-52. Cedar all ready has my name for this one...and if it's as well built as their twin stick, I'll be tickeled pink.
Soft landings,

I wonder if they will have the 'wrinkle' skin near the cockpit like the full-size.....which is about a 1/2 CENTURY old!!!!

I'd be very suprised if it is available late august like the website says. But if it actually has retracts, I may have to go ahead and pick this one up... unlike the b-17 which was a little less than what I was expecting.

I love to get people to spend THEIR MONEY..go to his website and look at the LANDING GEAR. I do not think it rotates from the looks of it...but..you guys are on your own with this one. Electric..8 motors??? I cannot even figure out what you guys are saying when you describe the battery packs!!
Good Luck,
Twinman
PS The "twinman" might go five glow engines on a dare, but eight...electric..I am out of my league and admit it. You guys send pictures and video. http://www.stukastudios.se/eldb52/movies.htm

hehe [sm=lol.gif]lol you crack me up twinman. Tell you the truth I'm not too big on electrics either, but if this B-52 is as awsome as they say it is I may have to do a "crash" course in this whole electric "thing".

I am not into electrics either but if this B52 came as its pormised then yes this will definately be part of my fleet. I wonder if its later "G or H" version or my favorite "D" version!, loaded B52 will be one awsome model to own....

So far its awesome to see...and I bet the model will be up above five bills or more. It's awesome...and I hope it has a scale outline. The fuse outline is very important to this model.

What about scale gear doors, or at least something close to scale gear doors?

If you are going to invest so much time to produce a laser cut kit, attention to the details would be awesome.

I sent Cedar Hobbies an e-mail...that basically states that I want one...you have my credit card info...send it A.S.A.P. I await an answer...and for all the gods...this hobby will break the bank yet...but what a way to go. I have had a thing for the B-52 ever since I was in South East Asia...and flew low cover after "Ark Light" runs. Awesome site to witness...and you cold feel the rumble from the ground impacts while airborn ... several miles away.
Soft landings always,

Cedar Hobbies: I have access to a full scale B-52. If you need detailed pictures and measurements of the gear, I'd be happy to render my services in return for a discount on a kit of said aeroplane.

What about scale gear doors, or at least something close to scale gear doors?
I think its close enough so that if you really want to scale it out you can, but one has to remeber that the closer you get to exact scale the harder it is to design (more $$$) and usually the more of a pain it is too keep it going reliably. As long as the gear closes up and the profile looks good in the air I think you can keep most people happy. And there's still enough room for improvement for the "exact scale" enthusist. Just hope it looks better than that B-17.. which so far it does.

I couldn't imagine the nightmare involved in getting the gear to retract like the full scale counterpart. (or the weight involved.)
Had one of them give me a good scare once while at Seymour/Johnson AFB. I was standing off the side of the runway toward the end, and when I saw it coming, it was (it appeared) coming straight at me. Turns out he had it castered into the wind, but was actually crabbing down the runway. Strange sight to see.

Just the fact it has retractable landing gear is cool enough for me. Once it's flying and the gear doors are closed no one will notice.

I think its close enough so that if you really want to scale it out you can,
Considering that it would take a major redesign to "scale it out," I think I'd rather scratch build it. The gear and doors (at least how they're shown on that version, are as close enough to the real thing as a P-51 is "close enough" to being an F-16.

but one has to remeber that the closer you get to exact scale the harder it is to design (more $$$) and usually the more of a pain it is too keep it going reliably.
No doubt, but it's not even at the flying stage at this point, and given the fact that Cedar enjoys the hell out of their laser cutter (lookit all the holes), I don't see what'd be so hard to change things up a bit at this point. In all honesty, the full scale function isn't any more complex than your standard rotating gear. I believe the gear on an F-18 are more complex.

As long as the gear closes up and the profile looks good in the air I think you can keep most people happy. And there's still enough room for improvement for the "exact scale" enthusist. Just hope it looks better than that B-17.. which so far it does.
Who knows what the final price will be, but if I'm going to hand $500+ for a BUFF, I'd like a MAJOR detail to be at least somewhat close.
