RE: 92in Cessna 310 ARF available
My first impression is that it is butt ugly...however, if they did not call it a Cessan 310 (cuz it's not even close.....) it is better looking as a sport plane than, say, a Dual Ace....
However, it is not even squint-sport-kinda-sorta-almost-nearly scale.....

Oh my god, ORANGE WINDOWS! I've got to have it! Plus, as the ad says "One of the finest ARF kits on the market". I can't wait for one of you guys to buy it and bring it out to the field...
I think I bit my tongue...

Ive built both the Royal and the Nosen Cessna 310 and the nitro arf doesnt come close to scale but as a twin trainer it has some qualities.
Why smash a 6-8 month kit built or the new Topflite glass fuse plane which are much closer to scale than a look a like arf that can be replaced?
Than again Twofitty is a lot of cash for a arf that only remotely resembles the real thing.

This is where I am so far.
I need to do some work on the cowls and add the TwinSync engine synchronizers and it'll be ready to fly.
BTW, has anyone actually flown one of these yet?
The recommended CG point is really far back on the wing root, like 35% or more.

Dick: your going to love the Twin Sync unit ...I have one and been mucking with the settings and like how the rudder/engine steering works .. I think Bill is going to add that it will disengage the setting if one engine flames out so rudder use will not be hampered by the engine in flight.
To much snow up this way to do a test flight till May [:'(] but all works well on the ground

Dick watch out on that CG, nitro planes has had the wrong CG in their instructions before. The 50 size nitro Bob Cat had the CG listed so far forward that the plane would not even rotate. I would be real hesitant to try a CG that looks too far aft.

people are putting turbines and retracts in $129 bob cat thet nitroplanes sell. Just because the airframe is cheap doesn't mean that you can't make it out to what you want it to be. Plus retracts usually survive a crash pretty good so you can always use them in another airframe.

I sort of agree! If the plane would accept retracts and could be modifed to accept retracts, that it would be a good test bed. My only fear, is that it just might be a pig and be to heavy and not be worth bashing.
There are a lot of threads on this site, where people are taking these CHEAP arf's and spend a good deal of time to add detail and ending up with a nice model.
Here's why I want to BASH this kit.
I have plans of a early 310 that I found on EBAY. In all my years of RC, I have never had a twin! So why not buy a this cheap ARf, knowing that it will need lots of work and make it a test bed for my Plans 310, that I plan on building to a similar size!
So, my question to Dick Petit, is are there rails in the wing that could be modified to except retracts or is just a slotted piece of ply/hard with a hole to except the wire gear.
