That puts the wing loading at 26 ounces/sq. ft. But then according to the Top Flight Cessna 310 thread, 50% of the lift comes from the nacelles and tip tanks, so it will fly like the wing loading is 13.
Let us know how it thermals.

The laws of physics are reported differently in Illinois. Soon someone will put nacelles on a glider and make nitro fuel.
On a more serious note a friend will have Top Flight’s fat girl in about a week. For him assembly is only a few days. If it flies I will have some real analytical data soon. A problem will be getting it to fly long enough to gather the data.

Questions Guys!
I'm new to twins, as I haven't ever flown one, but i'm thinking i'm going to use this ARF as my learning test bed for a early 310 plans that I am going to scale up to this size of this model.
Question #1
Mr. Petit is showing a weight of almost 16 pounds. If I add retracts and onboard glow, and end up with a weight of say 17 pounds, would a pair of .61 ASP/Magnums be enough power to fly this plane and not make it a lawn dart, if you were to lose and engine?
Would .91's be a better choice, when we get above 16 pounds?
I realize wing loading plays a huge part, but I think this plane should easier than the Top Flite 310, due span and wing area. Corect me if I am wrong!
Also, can some one measure the cowl width, so I can see if a 91 will be inside the cowl?

Have you not seen the video of the TF 310 flying with .46s?
Bills, my wife is not too happy about your continued comments about gravitationaly challenged girls.

Test flew the plane this past weekend. I used my own CG, at 4.5", not the 6" as stated in the "manual".
No problems at all.
Evolution 61's had plenty of power for a 16.5 pound pmane.
Here's the photos and a link to the video

Dick that looks great !!!!! !I can't believe how much better it looks in your pics as opposed to the Nitoplanes website. This plane really looks like a winner!!! I may really have to pic one of these up in the next couple of weeks. I'm just really suprised at how well it looks and it looks like a ***** cat to land too. I think with your pics and video nitro planes will sell a few more of these.

I see in this ARF as a starting point, from which you could with some minor and some not so minor work, transform this into a really hadsome looking plane.
Minor
1. Trash the nose cone and make one out of a balsa block. Needs nose job!
2. Redo the windshield - Lay it back a bit, for a closer scale apperance.
Major
1. Modify and add retracts - Looks like it could stand to be a tad taller, when compared to a real 310
2. Flaps
3. round off or build up the top of the fueslage by adding some balsa
Okay - these are just ideas for a $250 ARF! I look ARF's as potential starting points! I like to tinker and don't have time to build kits anymore! So I think this is what I'm going to do, if I see one at the Toldeo Show in April!
How many days until Toledo????????

I have one of these and I figure if you want scale you spend all winter building. If you want a good attention getter $200 ARF twin, you buy one of these. I am very pleased with the way it looks in the box. My wing messures 88 without tips and 92.5 with.
Not too many giant scale ARF twins out there for $250....

I just bought the TopFlite 310 last weekend and went through the box before I took it over to the guy that is setting it up for me. It looks really good. All the parts are molded fiberglass...very clean construction and good quality. Comes with lights too!!! Putting two OS 55.'s on it. Just got the Robart retracts today for it...looking to maiden it next weekend.

RE: 92in Cessna 310 ARF available
I ordered the Nitro Cessna 310 last night, along with their Cessna 182 (140 size). Picked up a pair of ASP (Magnum) .91 Four Strokes for the 310 on E-Bay, and an ASP 1.20 Four Stroke for the 182. Good thing the wife can't see MY checking account, but she will ask about those big boxes. Dang, I just got the Nitro P-82 Mustang and the Black Horse T-28 Trojen from Hobby people last week. I am going to have "Big Box" overload. I had a little spare cash to spend, so what the hell.
2 Four Storkes should sound sweet in the 310. I have a pair of new SK 50's for the P-82, and a Dual Ace with Supertigre .40's all NIB, and a Hobby Hangar 80" OV-10 Bronco with Tower .75's and Spring Aire Retracts slated for that one. Now I need to start assembling this stuff...can anyone come over and help me...??? FREE Beer and Pizza...!!! Oh I forgot the darn flying lawnmover....I think I need professional help....

Good Looking ? It looks like a cross between a C310 and one of the Spy vs. Spy characters from Mad magazine.
I don't know, maybe a nose job and do something with that windshield and it might look pretty good. Oh, those tip tanks need replacing.

As fugly as it is....nitroplanes now has these on sale for $149...for THAT cost I think it's worth it to use as a base for upgrades/modifications...IMHO. In any respect, I made the leap and picked one up....we'll see if it was worth it!

RE: 92in Cessna 310 ARF available
A friend picked up this plane a few weeks ago and I'll be putting it together for him. Have there been any new issues with this arf??? Gear issues, CG issues (Dick flew his at 4.5in) and engines, what have people tried. I'm leaning two stroke but have any gone with the 91 four strokes?
Thanks,
Pete
