Hi Ichy, I am flying a KMP F7F Tigercat and have all the doors functioning with servos. I have the doors off the airplane and trying to decide which Gear and Door selector I want to use. Have you investigated the Jet-Tronics Multi Function Retract and Gear Door Sequencer? This seems like the best one, but I would like to hear from people who have used a system that they think is the Best. Col. Chuck Winter

Hello Col. Winter, sorry that I missed your post before. I already had an air valve so I purchased a cheaper unit. The Jet-Tronics unit does look good though. You should post your question in the Jet forum. I bet a lot of them use this or similar. Nice Tigarcat by the way!

I´ve been trying to purchase a set of plans for Don Smith´s 105" A-26 Invader from Cornell Mitchaels Kit Cutting in Westland Michigan 48186, Tel. 1-734-578-0993 (this is the address given on the Homepage of Harry Katona´s Precision Cuts) but I get no answers to my e-mails or phone calls from them ....
I don´t know if they´re still in business, or just too busy to answer ...
Anyway, could anybody help me out with a set of the above mentioned plans (against hard Alps-currency or US$ of course, incl. shipping to Switzerland) ?? ..... even useable used plans (second hand) would be appreciated ....
Whatever I could find here in Europe regarding the A-26 Invader plans, are only for a smaller 50" "very semi-scale" version with electric or max. of .25 engines ...
Never thought I´d have such difficulties purchasing said plans and I´m pretty well at ends trying to contact anybody from here in Switzerland.

I don't know anything about the company you are trying to contact, but I know Precision Cut Kits sells the plans for it, and even short and full wood kits. I have never purchased from them, but I have contacted them on a few occasions, and they are always good to respond. I did send the e-mails ordering the plans to PCK (Harry Katona) but didn´t fill out the On-Line order forms :-(
Probably that´s why they didn´t aknowledged it as an order .... but at least they could´ve mailed me back ...

But it was quite an expensive adventure with the drawings (damn swiss customs put an extra 38$ duty on the drawings !!), all together I paid ca. 150 $ for them ...
Just about the costs for the balsa ...
Well, it´s the last time I´ve ordered anything from the States for sure ....

Maybe I´ll start my own thread as well as soon as I get ahead a bit with building ... first of all I had to do a lot of alterations though regarding converting the plans to standard european (millimeter) material sizes ... [:@]
But you guys´ve really inspired me on this project with this chapter !!

Sorry I missed your last post on 5/27! No progress here other than breaking in engines. One done, and am swtiching to another. Have them on a 80" Wild Hare Yak. I had to move my plane out of the shop I area I have at work, cause it is now filled with furniture from my daughter's home. I hope that situation will change, but it will probably not be for 4 to 5 months.
Hope you're still considering the Open House on the 31st.

Been a very busy little bee since my last report ...
Finished the mid section wing frames and the frames for the engine pods, built the frame for the right wing, but my fingers were really itching to finally start on the fuse ...
Right now I´m attaching the formers of the starboard side of the fuselage, the port side is planked already ...
I´ve decided I´ll build the "C" version with the plexiglas nose cone ... thats why the "funny" cutouts on front of the fuse ...
A question to you good people ...
The 105" plans call for two .90 (15ccm) glow engines ... would there be a better engine size/type like gas engines for instance ... I´ve two new 38ccm gas engines with CDI ignitions but I´m afraid they might be just a touch too large ... any suggestions ??
As for landing gears ... I´m thinking of the EuroKit CRA/15226/000 pneum. set as they´re good for about a little over 15kg ...
These are practically the only available and fairly priced gears in my area ... the struts I can make myself ...
I like the Sierras a lot too, but they´re just too expensive plus swiss customs would have a field day with them before I´d get them ... [:@]

That is looking very nice Charles! Love the use of foam and lightening holes. Did you allow for the wing tube to go through the nacelles? That was left out on the plan.

That was one of the first things I´ve seen on the plans ... it took a bit of measuring and figuring, but finally I got it right (I think ) ...
What was time consuming, was converting/adapting the inch measurements for the standard european material sizes (mm) specially for spruce and avionic quality ply, for instance 1/4" = 6,35mm (standard european sizes = 6-8-10, etc.. mm) so go figure ...[]
For the wing ribs I used 4mm lite-ply, that´s why the bunch of holes in them too, trying to keep the weight down as well ...

Working on the tail section at the moment ... decided to build the horizontals to be removeable for easier transport ...
Fuse still needs a lot of work, but I just want to get the tail out of the way before I finish the fuse (final sanding and glassing)
I´ve just purchased two Magnum 108 engines (hope they´ll be strong enough with 3,5 HP each) but still looking for the pneumatic landing gears before I start again on the mid section of the wings and the engine pods ...

I´ve found some on the german E-Bay but somebody just snapped them (again) before I could grab them ...
Been at glasing and sanding all the main parts at the moment and hope to finish the project by coming spring ... there´s still a lot to do ... besides suffocating to death in the dust clouds ...[:'(]

Hi all. I've since moved to a smaller house with a much smaller garage. It would be a good year or so before starting on it again and I'm also concerned about doing this in my new small work area.
Thus, A guy in our club is going to finish it up and should be flying by next year. I'll post picks when its done.

Hi Wingspar,
been there, still doing it and hoping for the T-shirt ...
My "workshop" is my single-car garage (for european cars, not Cadillacs !!) so I always keep bumping into myself while working ...
To assemble my plane, even to just see if the parts fit together, I have to carry every part outside separately and put them together practically on the street ...
At least my neighborhood is quite friendly, so they just try to keep the jokes, regarding me and my hobby, down to a tolerably mean level ...
