Pulled mine out after it has sat for a couple of years. I love flying this model! Here are a few pics taken by my friend Derek Abramson of these flights. Radio is JR12X, power is a pair of Evolution .52's. BVM brakes on the mains. I have 90 flights on the model.

Been working on my 310....just curious anyone here have the OS 46AXs on there? Any one switch the carbs to the 46AXII carbs? I cannot get those needle valves to fit in the nacelles. I figure the 46AXII carb/needle valves like the 55AX would fit a lot better. I already orderd 2 should be here by the end of the week.

PY I know you have to cut holes for the valves but to try and get a regular .46 needle to fit where your cut holes is damn near impossible. thats why up upgrading valves

Remote needle valves
Here are some links to remote needle valves. Scale builders use them to relocate the needle valve so it is not obvious. Hope this helps.

Ive got the OS 46 max ax's motors on my plane, with, I assume, the original carburetors. Is there a better, newer carb for this engine? I'd like to know if there is a way to get more power with the same motor. I'm not a fan of the 55ax. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. thanks for the help. best, orion...

The OS 46AX was replaced by the 46AXII the only difference i s the carb. Which I have the 46AX and replaced the AX carb with the AXII carb.

Buy the way is there any easy way to do the nose gear doors with 2 air cylinders? Im having one hell of a time lining doors up too work since they have a curvature to them.

dear bad, go to YOUTUBE.COM and put in TINKERMANRC. This guy has built some really nice planes, including the Cessna 310, and he made doors for the nosegear from, I think the set you can buy. look at his video, one of the three building segments for the 310, and then email him. he can provide direction for fitting the doors and installing the air cylinders. good luck. best, orion...

Im following your advice and get baffled. is the thin balsa saw blade a special blade, or is it in a exacto kit? next, im not sure what you mean when you say make a square ledge that you can bite into with some screws and will keep it level. are you talking about using the square that was removed as a replacement patch with some screws in it? love to know....best,,, orion4455.

new build
Well, after flying the heck out of my old 310, I decided to build a new one.
I made a few changes on thus one.
1) removed the balance shot from the nose. I'll use batteries, engine weight to help balance.
2) added better lighting (bright LEDs)
3) use dle 20s
4) added aluminum torque tube to the forward part if the wing. This tube Ru s fro. The center of the wing to the nacelle. It also runs the wires through it. Thus should stiffen the with g and provide resistance to twisting the wing due to heavy engine es.
5) I repainted the dark blue trim color.

Interesting, I should have tried that. I carefully cust a small hatch with a metal bladed saw with my dremel and then pop'd out the shot. The hatch can be glued in rather easily with minimal paint touch up. However, your idea would have been cleaner.

Wow Jim, that green trim really pop's and looks great. I am going to repaint the lighter blue on mine with a bright red color, but still have not decided on the correct shade to use. I am using the Klass Kote epoxy system, what paint did you use on yours? Thanks

I wanted to paint the light blue, but it was a lot more painting...I guess I am lazy. I used model master enamel paints and then cleared with ppg urethane enamel. I have used this many times with great results.
