I have a lot of pics of full scale commanders and several giant scale models. Is that a Joe Birdi version by Great Planes?

The original Bridi Shrike had a real bad tip stall. There was a replacement wing made to cure the problem. I don't know if you was aware of this problem. Rich

I don't remember where they were getting replacement wings from. Wingletts would help. Try a search here on RCU under Bridi Aero Commander.

Hi!
Two .70 fourstroke engines is way, way too much power for such a small (200 cm in span) airplane.
It will only fly like a pattern ship if you use those. If you build it light and power it right it will fly on its wing ...which is much nicer. I would go with two OS .40 four-strokes or .40 SAITO:s

And if you have doubts about the wash-out in the wing ...or lack of wash-out...better check that wing with a Robart incident meter. It could be fixed if it's wrongly cut and has wash-in. Never try to fly a plane with a wing with wash-in in it's wing tips!

My DC-3 weight's 3,6kg and is powered by two OS .26 four-strokes and flies like a 2m sailplane...on it's wing.

Regards!

If you put the tank in the fush, use two tanks and hook them up just like they were in the wing. You can use two smaller tanks in the necessels as header tanks . that works good too.
