RE: NEW KMP 95" B-25
Well, I know two ppl who will be VERY happy when they receive theirs.
Now, Akondor, I have a question for you specifically...............
I had emailed Paul about a badly cracked cockpit canopy that was in the box of my original size 83" KMP B-25. He replied asking for a picture and I sent him one. This was on April 17th. I have yet to get a response back from him and I did resend the email along with the picture a week ago. Still nothing.
I need a replacement canopy and was told originally by Paul that KMP still had spare parts for this plane. Can you assist please?

Mine came in today - Home late no time to look at it - will open up tommorrow to examine contents Yep it is a big box
Edit: Could not wait went out and took a peak, geat packaging- shipped in about 1/2"+ thick corrugated cardboard container box. Parts that I looked at appeared good. Very pleased with the nose art and flat finish on fuse. - it will be later in flying season before I can start on it couple of other projects must be finished first (but I have said that before)

RE: NEW KMP 95" B-25
ok guys....there has been some discussion about gyros both on and mostly off this particular thread. Those in the heli forums cant seem to understand how a gyro can compensate for an engine out scenario when the gyro is used to correct yaw. Someone care to explain how a gyro will constantly push rudder when an engine goes out when not using heading hold? They seem to think that in normal mode, a gyro will noly blip the rudder until it centers again.

Regarding Gyros ...
Yes, this is exactly what a gyro in "rate" mode will do. You (and the heli gang) are correct that it will _not_ hold the correction. It will pulse to stop the yaw, which is exactly what you want. The point is that the gyro acts fast to the engine out. Of course, once the gyro corrects the yaw and releases the rudder, the plane will want to yaw strongly again! And the gyro will correct again. The plan is to keep the plane from entering a spin, not make it fly straight and true. Achieving this will require tuning the gain on the gyro in "rate" mode to get the desired affect.
So, when all is said and done, the gyro is buying you time to realize that the engine is out, so the pilot can provide the necessary control inputs for a controlled landing (hopefully on the runway).

RE: NEW KMP 95" B-25
Hi all:
Just a side note.... The office in Canada as a practice will only send products to US customers from the US only. Any product that's in Canada which needs to be shipped to a US customer will be delivered first to a local US postal outlet (by someone from our office) before shipping it goes to our customer. This way our US customers will not pay any customs duties or brokerage costs.

RE: NEW KMP 95" B-25
KMP did send me a replacement canopy, but I did have to contact them again. I know they have spare parts for the bigger 95" b-25 as they had originally shipped me the canopy for the larger plane by mistake.
After sending that one back, they did get me the correct size canopy(unpainted) for mine.

Perhaps another "early builder" will start an official RCU build thread for this baby.
BTW, what size Saito is that under your port cowl? My friend (Eldher13) and I each plan for dual Saito 100's with an on-board glow system, of course, plus a gyro for the eventual, inevitable engine-out scenario.

RE: NEW KMP 95" B-25
Yep Saito's. I'm a bit disappointed when I bought the model from Bob's. If I'd known about the RCP engines from KMP I would have bought them instead. I had to cut up the engine cowl with the saito. It's 100 bucks more and I would have paid for them. This is a big step up for me since coming from electrics and was looking for guidance at Bob's . I'm thinking about redoing it with the new engines from KMP to keep it clean but will have to purchase a new nacelle and cowl and center wing section. I want to keep it as close to scale as possible.

RE: NEW KMP 95" B-25
Maybe I'm going blind, but on a second, more complete, pass through the various "sub-packages" contained in the KMP B-25 shipping "coffin" I've yet to find the two plywood or hardwood spars that connect the mid-wing with the nacelles (I did find the aluminum spar tubes for the wing tips, no problem). Obviously, they may have been accidentally left out of my kit.
These missing spars are not in the "hardware" package that includes servo doors, push-rods, etc, or anyplace else I've looked so far.
Can anyone tell me where they located theirs?
