Flyright,
Did you epoxy the nacelles to the center wing section? I noticed a bolt in one of your pictures.
Do you think KMP can fix the problem by replacing the outer wing's only? Can they cure the gap problem by changing the angle of the last rib making it flush with the nacelle?
Hoping to get new outer wings!

Hey PA757 -
Yes, Flyright & I believe that KMP could fix the problem by re-doing the outer panels only. All they have to do is re-locate the wing-tube hole to the center of the rib (VERY CLOSE APPROXIMATION!!!) and match the root rib angle to the nacelles. If they started with a fresh wing panel there would be NO other mods necessary that we can see. We will be adding a shim to close the gap left, but if the root rib angle were fixed it would be a perfect fit (and fix).

PA757,
The nacelles are epoxied to the inner wing assembly . I added the bolt to give the TE a mechanical fastening point. This may be "over-Engineering " but I like the "belt and suspenders" approach in some areas. It also helped keep the joint snug and properly aligned while the epoxy cured.
As F82fan said KMP could provide a fix to the outer wing panel by relocating the holes in the ribs to match the hole location in the first rib, then changing the first rib angle to match the nacelle.
You asked about the attachment method for the outer panel . I'll take pictures when I get to that point to show you what I came up with. Tonight I'll be putting together my club's newsletter and hoping that Tropical Storm Eduordo doesn't cause power outages in my area.

Guys,
I started a thread on KMP website Forums. Waiting for a response!
Looks like the Apache Princess has too much anhedral! What is the plan to fix the look?

Well, the nose is finished and ready to install .50 cal's and paint!
Not a bad mod, time-wise. I think I put in about 8 hrs total to this point and I have never done it before! (I have scratch built numerous airplanes, but they weren't glass over foam!) I threw some aviation green primer on (I knew it wouldn't match) just to see how it would look in grey n green.
Enjoy the pics.
I wish I knew the mold-making process better.... I wouldn't mind having these available for those who, like me, just can't leave well-enough alone.
There are SO many cool B-25 paint schemes that, IMHO, the factories (H9, Top Flite, KMP, etc.) would do well to just put the airplane out in basic paint and put a set (or three!) of nose-art decals in for the builder to install, and then we could do em up like we want if we don't like their ideas!
Next up for FLYRIGHT will be wiring and plumbing.... Looks like a total of 8-servos in the wing, 2-rudder, 1-5655TG on the elevators,1-nose gear steering, and 1-retract, plus 1-additional channel for fun stuff later!
Anybody have a good three view of the BOTTOM of the airplane that would show the cut-lines for the bomb-bay? Please post if you find one.
Let us know how you like her new schnoz!

RE: NEW KMP 95" B-25
BTW.... Those wondering what engines these are...
They are the new Fuji 24's on Magneto - NOT ignition. Yes, Flyright had to do some clearancing of the cowlings, but, hey, not every airplane has cowlings the size of a Tigercat in this scale!
Here are some more pics of nose & engines.
THANK YOU Flyright!
Oh, andNO that is NOT the prop we will fly with - simply stuck something on there for effect. Also the left cowling was NOT pushed on all the way, and so is off-center and looks like the engine is off. It's NOT![sm=shades_smile.gif][sm=thumbup.gif]

Thanks for the 3-view JetMex!!!
Umm, NO, I don't think the S/N on the port Vertical was a "field mod".
Maybe not everyone uses numbers like we do, and so sometime get corn-fused about which way those durn things go.
Good thing we are going with new S/N's to match "Betty's Dream" or I'd have to fix that, too!

F82Fan,
So what's the deal with that cool serial number on the port fin? Was that a field mod? [sm=stupid.gif]

RE: NEW KMP 95" B-25
HI Guys:
I'm finaly back from some summer vacation... (I have not been avaoiding anybody here [sm=tongue_smile.gif]) and I have some news and instructions about the remedy for the outboard wing panel discussions.
The factory will be sending out some new wing tube inserts and aluminum tubes to raise the panel slightly. If you go to the instructions portion of our website we have posted (will be there shortly if not already) a single page with an illustration of the mod. We will of course send out these parts to anyone who needs them as soon as they arrive. We are expecting them in about 3 weeks depending on when our factory send the parts to us. They are in the process of making the parts and told us they will do everything possible to expidite them to us as soon as they are ready.
The factory has also reassured me that all future B-25 production will be made with the adjustment to the panel.
Thanks again for your patience with regards to my response to this matter. Should anybody need further clarification or wish to speak to me directly about this or anything else feel free to pick up the phone and call me toll free 888-968-7251.
As always, I wish everyone many happy landings!

Andrew,
What are the chances we can get new outer wings? I can wait!!~
It will be a better fix than bending the tube and adding a gap filler!

For example, how many of those reading this are also considering the new KMP Corsair, but will hold off, or buy elsewhere if they, too, see anything less than stellar on fixing this design defect.
Please do not underestimate the seriousness of this situation with regard to the reputation of KMP.

Yes,
I too have been sitting back and waiting to see what unfolds with regards to the fixes needed on this one. A pair of Magnum 1.80 four strokes look like a good match. Keep up the good work guys.

Rip I totally Agree!
Andrew, Since you are planning to fix the wing with future B25's, I will wait for the outer wing's that will fit correctly! I don't like to do things half ass! I want it perfect and I can wait for as long as it takes to get it right! It will give me more time to work on the fine details; nose section and Cockpit! (Got John Wayne at the Capt!)
I'm also planning to purchase the FW 190 and P51 and hope all the bugs are worked out with those models!
My goal is to have a Garage full of 1/6 WW 2 airplanes hanging from the Ceiling!
