I've never had a problem with the Rev Y's but have heard of plenty of people that have so you're probably right.

Any particular brand your using that seems to work?

Kahloq,
I've used the "Miracle Y" reversing adapter from MPI (Maxx Products Inc.) on several planes and never had any issues.

Hi All
I need some help with some information on the new wing tips. Did KMP supply them free or did people have to pay for them our local importer has been on to ESM and I quote"the replacement wing provided by KMP to some customers were ordered by KMP, and it is not free, KMP paid to ESM". As you can see I am getting the run around on the new wing tips.

RE: NEW KMP 95
Sounds like your LHS needs to get some customer service skills!
Here in the States (and the UK, too???), every person that ordered the airplane was offered replacement tips at no charge.
Folks screamed long and loud and Andrew Kondor did the right thing and got the factory to make the CORRECT tips for ALL of them.
Ithink your dealer is trying to make some easy $$$ off of you.
Just remind your LHS owner that the next time you need to spend your hard-earned money, that he won't be getting it - from you, or your friends!
Good luck with this one.
Anyone else? Andrew??? Tomas??? Chime in here!

RE: NEW KMP 95
Here is my solution to securing the wingtips in place for flying. The rubber band idea given in the manual is a joke as has been stated before.
So, i used some 1/4" threaded rod from Home depot and glued a section in the back end area of the wing tip. I drilled the hole in the wing slightly small so the threads on the rod could grab it as I twisted the rod into the wing rib. Epoxy was used to make sure it didnt work its way back out. One the nacelle side, this rod pokes through and a modified wing nut clamps the wing tip to the nacelle. I can even tighten the wing nut with the gear cover thing in place. I can fit my hand in there to do so and can do it while the plane is on its wheels(as long as its on a table). So, no flipping the plane over either and this is what I was going for. I liked Elder13's ingenious method, but did not want to have to put the plane on its back in a cradle, affix the wings, then flip it back over if I could help it.
There is also a nylon washer between the wing nut and the interior side of the nacelle(fiberglass). I put them there to prevent stress damage to the fiberglass.

RE: NEW KMP 95
It flys!!
Well guys I finally got it up! ...... and down (in one piece). The maiden flight of Heavenly Body went very smoothly. Only a little trim needed. Flying weight is 33.2 lbs. Call sign is now Heavenly Body Heavy. Did full flaps (45 degree) on landing and came in a little hot on the first one. Rather than clutter up this site with photos and video, I made a blog site. Please check it out: http://B25JMitchell.Blogspot.com More to follow with a bombing run.

I like the added scale touches you did. I may have to go back and redo a few things on mine now to make it look better. But...here's a few pics of more progress. I dont have a blog, so I guess I'll have to clutter up the thread a little.

RE: NEW KMP 95
I've been following this thread from the very begining.
This is one model I would be adding to my fleet, but I'm currently working on a Cessna 310.
Kahlq, Very Sweet on the aluminum paint job and bombay doors.
Glad to see you are using the twin synk
Cheers,
Gunny

What I did made it so that will never happen, but it does add additional wiring and extra servo extensions. I can also plug in that addon display unit with only having to have the bomb doors open and do whatever testing might be needed that way.
I like Eldher13's plug in hatch on the wing for this purpose, but I basically alleviated having to create a hatch simply by placingthe unitwhere I did.
Thanx for the compliments.

RE: NEW KMP 95
Well that's good to know. I havent yet installed the twin synk in my C-310. On my C130, however, I made a hatch to access my match box to adjust each of the four engines.
Keep up the good work.

A few more pics. Side fuse guns have been mounted. On the inside of the "gun blisters" I epoxied in wood plates so the gun barrels had a second surface to adhere to in order to help hold them nice and tight.
Im still trying to figure out the nose area for internal detail. The green backplate you see is from the TF B-25 detail kit. It fits ok, but is a little small. The actual floor area part though is significantly smaller lengthwise and does not fit at all....hence why Im trying to figure something else out.

RE: NEW KMP 95
Well, mine is getting real close to being done, but as usual, something has to act up. I mentioned a few weeks ago that my rudder servos seized up from the jittering that the reversing y-harness caused. Well, I replaced the servos and changed out the reversing y-harness for a new one. This time, the rudders start jittering ONLY when the throttle servos are moved from idle. Very odd. So...instead of being able to take the thing to the field tomorrow for engine tests, etc....I have to go buy another matchbox. I dont know what else to do to get rid of the interference. The MPI reversing y-harness is performing better then the previous one, but its still getting interference from something.
There's a lot of wires in this plane so its probable the reversing y-harness just doesnt have enough shielding against a bunch of wires in a spot thats making a big RF noise or something.
Since i have to go to hobbytown anyways...might as well get a little bottle of brown paint to paint the leather boots that go over the gun barrels against the window for the waist gun positions as well as the tail gun area.

Mine Flies TOO!
Maiden flight on July 3 and 2 more flights today. Boy, F82FAN, you were right, this bird is easy to handle, a delight to fly. These are great flying planes. A lot to build, but worth it!
The rest of you guys, GET BUILDING!

RE: NEW KMP 95
I missed Elder13's maiden flight by 5 mins. Bummer.
Mine is close to being ready for a maiden but not quite ready. My retracts are now giving me problems. My nose gear works fine, but my mains are exceptionally slow retracting into the nacelles even with 80 psi. They will work ok at 90psi and over, but at 70 psi, there is no guarantee they will fully pull up. At less then 70 forget it. Id have to rely on wind to help push them up and thats not a good thing. Deploying them down is not a problem even down to 40 psi.
Two things could be the problem I think.
A)...the wheels I have on the retracts are HEAVY robart 5" with aluminum hubs. The weight may be more then the air system can do with having 3 retract units tied in. I even hooked in a jumper hose from the separate nose gear output to combine in with the mains to give more air that direction and it helped a little, but not much.
B)...there's a kinked hose in the wing somewhere. This is possible and Im hoping its just this. If not...I will be forced to put a 2nd air system in the plane to run the mains separate. I've even thought about doing it with ONE main on one air system and the other main with the nose gear to give the most air pressure possible to each main retract. The nose unit doesnt require much at all and has a much smaller wheel(less weight).
Any advise would be nice.

RE: NEW KMP 95
kahloq,
If you have any restrictors remove them, next check that there is no loss in pressure in your system,
last,,, perhaps there is a kink...
A larger tank may also help with volume of air stored making for easier constant up and down pressure...
-Hope it helps...flying blind here..

RE: NEW KMP 95
There are no restrictors on the lines for the mains. There is one for the nose, but thats just before the line gets to that retract unit so its not restricting air to anywhere else. The nose works fine too.
I have the largest air tank that robart makes fitted into this plane. There are no air leaks or loss of pressure.
I will be removing the main gears here shortly and testing their operation when hand held to see if there was a possible kink.

RE: NEW KMP 95
Update on plane relative to weight. Oh boy...not so good.
I believe Eldher13's weighed 27 pounds.
I just weighed mine(and this is minus the bomb bay section...no bomb rack yet either and without the prop hubs or cowls in place and also without the left engine fuel tank installed as well as no pilot figures in the cockpit).
Mine is showing 29.3 pounds. I expect with the bomb bay, 1x fuel tank, cowls, prop hubs and everything else that I will be approaching 31 pounds.
