im confused, your pic shows it to be a built up kit but your thread states and ARF? is it destined for ARF'ness or a kit?

Let me clear this up. The PHOTO is of my new project, a 107", electric-powered Bronco. The video link is to show the ScaleTech (Hobby Hangar) 80" Bronco ARF powered by electrics rather than glow. That ARF has been available for quite some time. I have NO plans, at the moment, to make the 107" version available in anything other than plans form. Sorry for the confusion, hope this straightens things out.
Here's a link to the 107" version, gas-powered (G-38's). http://www.rcuvideos.com/item/QQWFCJY1SQ19SHXK

The batteries and ESC's are mounted in the fuselage, just below the cockpit floor. The long wires are between the ESC's and the motors. The battery/ESC location can be seen in the intro to the flight video.

The long wires are between the ESC's and the motors
Now I can see that you have no problems with this setup,,but I have been told by CC that you can only have 12 " between the ESC and motors .... but you can have upto 24 " between the batteries and the ESC and in the case of my electric V-22 Joe told me that if I put in some bigger resistors between the power leads to the ESC that I could run those up to the 36 " that I needed to reach the wing tip nacelles .

I guess then it must depend on the ESC's and motors used .!!!????

All of my twin electric models, with the exception of my BH OV-1 Mohawk, have the longer leads running from the ESC to the motors. I've had no problems with any of the models equipped this way. I'm not challenging what you've been told, only telling what has worked, problem-free, for me in my Broncos, Cessna 310, S-3 Viking and Britten-Norman Defender.

Maybe I missed it ,,but what ESC's do you use ??

This could be a company thing with CC only ??? . I am using phoenix 60's in the V -22 and have not talked to any other company about this .

How long of wire are we talking about from the ESC to motor?? I have a large scale four engine Lancaster (132"WS) ready to go but read the recent article in the AMA mag about this issue. Seems like the length of wire between ESC and battery is very critical (and short) but long leads between motor and ESC can be tolerated better. Other threads at Rcgroups indicated limits to even the motor leads, +/- 12" to 20" - especially response by CC had sever limits.
I had my ESC at the motor in each nacell, but now must re-engineer this thing question is if I put the ESC (4) into main fusilage I will have about 44" leads +/- to outer nacell motors - trying to figure out if this is a problem - I am also "strongly" reconsidering modifing all motor mount areas at each nacell to allow placement of battery & ESC next to each motor -but only if leads are a problem due to amount of work-redo involved.
Lot of investment here - sooo input is appreciated - Thank for all input so far guys

PS: I also have the 80" Bronco I will convert from glow fuel to electric later.

I'm running at least 22" leads with no problem on my KMP OV-10. The Batteries, leads and ESCs are all barely warm after a 8 to 10 minute flight. The batteries are in the center pod and the ESCs are in each boom. this Pony flys very nice on two E-Flight Power 110s turning APC 17/10s, CCPh.85 HVs, powered by 4 Enerland 4s 5000 mah. These shots were taken by Greg Gimlick at this years Nall.

O.K. , now I am confused ,, this bird uses CC ,,but you have the ESC's in the booms and probably with the original wire leads to the motor(which would give you about ( " total wire ) . and the leads from the batteries to ESC under the 24 " mark ..so in fact you are within CC's specs ...
You first stated that the battery leads were short and the long leads were from the ESCs to the motors except in your BH OV-1 Mohawk ??
Was that a mis type ??? Just trying to get facts from someone else besides CC or any other manufacture ,,so as not to make a mistake on a lot of money invested .
Thanks for the help

Hey v22, over here! On my 80" ScaleTech Bronco, the batteries are co-located with the ESC's in the fuselage (center body) and the wires going TO the motors go from that point, out through the wing to the nacelles, to the motors. They are approx. 24" in length, per side.

At this point,I'm not exactly sure of what I'll make available, if anything. This may end up being just a "two-off" project as the canopy is quite large and rather pricey to duplicate. Thanks for the interest, I'll keep you all up to date on the progress of the project.
