VQ P38 gear
any of you gearheads get yours yet?
Just got mine, look nice great price, now
I guess I shall have to build it!
One question however. I see it only came with a
front landing gear leg. No legs for the mains? Are
we to cut the fixed gear legs to fit? Havent pulled
my P38 out from the shop to check this out.
Also what about oleo legs for these. I remember seeing
in the pre production photos there appeared to be
oleo struts on them? Anyone know? Twinman?
thanks
Todd

VQ P38 gear
I got mine also yesterday and I'm disapointed to not see nice struts with it. I'm going to call Debbie at Morris on Monday to see if nice struts are on the way or if I need to purchase them on my own. I hope they're included but I'm not holding my breath.

Incomplete???
How much did you guy's pay for the "special deal" landing gear made especially for the VQ P-38?
Think I was told $150.00 when I ordered my P-38 but decided to wait & see what other people had to say about them once they became available.
Any word on the weapons kit?

Mike,
if you here anything from Debbie in reguards to the struts let us know? I will try and make contact on monday as well? I would like to have seen struts with the gear here.
Carlos,
I paid $125.00 for my set, they are Spring Air 102 HD's? So I dont know if they where modifed slightly for the VQ P38, or if they are just stock off the shelf units that fit our planes?

P-38 GEAR
It appears that the landing gear sent was stock 102.HD in my case.
You better check the Main Fuselage retract mechanism received, because, the one , I received, had no modifications made to the mounting case to allow direct mounting to the existing plywood block (refer to item #23-air retract Instalation-bottom view--- in your P-38 instruction manual).
Look at mounting case configuration closely and compare it to the one you received To mount the one sent me, major modifications would have to be made make it work. A completely new rail system.
Better check this closely!
Also, I am not pleased that struts were not included as well.
I too will contact Debbie.

Twinmaster thanks for the info!
I had not noticed that, as I had the plane out in the storage
shop, and had only looked at the retracts.
You are right, we would have to make some big mods to the
plane to make them work? We'll see what Debbie says?

VQ P38 gear
I've had my plane for about 6 weeks now and still no retracts. Last time I talked to Robert and Debbie, I was told that they are to come with the robart struts and hinges for the doors, too. Kinda sounds like a "tap dance" goin' on over there, if you ask me. I'm still waiting for the servo and engine package, too. It would sure be nice if I got to fly it before the summer passes!! I've been on the update email list and haven't heard anything from Morris. What servos and engines are you guys using out there? It looks like I'm going to have to fuel proof some more behind the fire walls, too. There seems like far to much additional work to be done for the price!
