I agree with BPS it has been way to quiet here. Keep checking but no one has been updating.
I my self am still waiting for my maiden, Seems like everytime I go out I find some small problem
and have to put it off. 1st was a problem with servos, getting a lot of jitters, turned out to be a bad flap servo.
then went out, almost ready to fly and realized the steering was backwards , had a 8 channel PCM rx but the 8th channel
was a y connector with Bat. For some reason my radio would not show the 8th channel, Them switched to a G3 14 channel
rx that would not link at the field. Brought it home and linked it up. Then while checking everything I realized the flap servos
were different speeds, Install a new matched set and now it is ready. But weather has not been nice. decent during the week and
windy and rain on the weekends, Last weekend Sat was decent but we were doing field maintence.
Makes me wonder?????? Maybe this weekend. Sat chance of rain but Sunday is forcast as sunny.
We'll see. Cliff

I am currently running a Super Tiger 2300 in my Cermark Pitts S2B, 12 pounds, swinging a Master Airscrew 16x8 & 16x10 with
great authority on FIA fuel, but I'll warn you it's a thirsty beast of an engine........ approx 6 mins on a 24 oz tank with little to spare.
Wished some one offered a gas conversion kit for it...........FYI if you are interested I'll be selling it, as I am converting the Pitts over to a gasser, in the coming weeks as I'm doing a recovering job on her.

Bill I'll let you run one on my G4500's then you will know the true meaning of the word "Thirsty Beast" AKA 6.4 oz a min LOL.

Tower has me a little worried with this little comment on the end of there tech tips.

"Avoid pumps or regulators."

On two stroke glows I'm all about pumps and regulators. Hopefully since I'm switching to a Perry pump carb I won't have any problems. I already know that I'll need to make collars
for the Bission Pitts muffler outlets.

Don't think it's worth it to convert a ST to gas. I do have a kit to convert a Zenough G-62 to glow some ware around the shop. You see back in the day only lame people flew their planes on gas. People in the know converted their gas engines over to methanol like the dragsters to get extra HP. LOL

That zeitgeist is wacky

Funny how in one era it was all about getting every bit of HP out of an engine and now it's "I don't care if I have to ad an ignition system and battery and lose 25% HP. Gas is only $3.50 a gallon"!

the thing to remember with a st4500 is the rear carb it will run fine on the ground but will ricen up in the air the cure is simple make a tube that will go from the front of the engine to the rear carb. you will find that in the air there becomes a vortex that sucks the air out of the carb thus making the engine run rich. with the tube it acts like a ram air and gives it good clean air and you will be surptised at the difference. i have had the 4500 since it was first brought out and with this set up i have been very pleased with the performance.

I know what you mean on the big ST's being thirsty brutes, my 3250 will gulp down close to 6 oz
a minute, got it from a guy in Texas that said it was just too powerful for the plane he had it in. I own
all of the Super Tiger motors from the 40 up through the 3250, great motors for the price, my 40
is probably approaching the 30+ gallon mark on run time. BTW I tried a Perry pump carb on the 2300,
it didn't like it, or it might have been me, I don't know, I changed it back to the ST carb and running great.

Still gathering parts for the build on the Nosen 310, landing gear is next item on the list, boy them Robarts
seem to keep going up in price, intention is to stay with air as electric conversion is just too dang expensive.
Getting ready to splurge on the engines, DLE 30's or the PTE-36 with the rear exhaust, still researching both.

Hello All
I have the one with Retracts and Flaps, Yes it it a foamy but she Fly's like it is on rails
Takeoffs and landing are straight foward, I have 3 Flights on it now. Have done Rolls still getting the feel for her.
Runs on a single 3 Cell 2200 Lipo, It took less then a hour to assemble. I fly from a grass Field and it is off in 20 feet.
Have not really needed Flaps for landing, But will try them and let everyone Know. I like the statement made earlier
It is a Nosen 310 Training Aid. If my Nosen Fly's and handles anything like this I will be a Happy camper.

Spent last Saturday at a giant scale fly-in and was very privalaged to have our
canopy set up next to the Extreme Aerobatics Group that were the guest of honor
at the fly-in, not really into 3-D but had the chance to talk to Blaine Austin whom is one
of the top 3-D & IMAC pilots in the world, was kind of interested in his trailer he was
towing all painted and decaled out "Top Dawg Aviation", he was telling me about the line
of gas motors he is importing, the Mintor line from Italy, when he said Italy he got my
undivided attention, as being a former model boat racer, I have bought nothing but fine
Italian made marine racing engines, Picco, CMB & Rossi. Anyway to make a long story short,
once I got home I checked his engines out on his web site, man he has some nice small size
gas engines, inparticular the 22 & 33 cc units, look just perfect for the Nosen Cessna 310. Will
be purchasing the 22 cc for a trial on a plane that I have been wanting to convert to gas, just to
see how it will perform, so it looks like the DLE 30 & the PTE 36 have a little competition going.
attached below is pics of the 22 & 33. Blaines website: www.topdawgaviation.com

And they come with a 3 year warranty, they look to be machined from bar
stock instead of from castings, I going to try to make an appointment with
Blaine in the coming weeks to have a hands on & eyeball look at these engines.
Will take my camera to get some good shots of the engines.

Good morning group, enjoying a few day of vacation this week so maybe I can
get some of those unfinished projects in the shop done and flying or ready for our
June 2nd Fly-In & Swap Shop, so I can boost the funds in my Nosen Cessna 310
piggy bank.

We also have a new member that picked up partially built Bud Nosen Cessna 310
at a swap meet this last weekend. Please help me in welcoming our newest:

I have an update roster for the "Nosen Cessna 310 Club".

The club has been going now for 3 years 1 month & 3 days, since it's beginning
back on 03/29/09, we have had a very good following and now with the memebership
at 61 have reached a small milestone for this design that was concieved some 30 +
years ago and still going strong and will always remain in the hearts of those that have
had the love like myself for this big beautiful beast of a bird.

One day soon I will finally (after so many years) be flying one of my favorite twin engine aircraft. It might not have all the bells and whistles as some here do but it will be beautiful for sure.
