Add another member. I have this model on the back burner at the moment. I have a Palmer 132" Hercules on the boards at the moment. I am a glutton for punishment. The Cessna 310 has always been one of my favorites and I am looking forward to the build later this year. This thread will be a great help.

Cheers,

IR3

BTW, it is Saul's kit that I just acquired.

Since no one took a shot at naming the airplane I posted pics of, Ill just go ahead let you know what it is. It was built by Cessna. It was their shot and creating a cooperate plane. It carried 10 people. But, the interest just wasnt there. Only 1 was built. The hints were the engine nacels, right off a 310, and the tip tanks. The aircraft was called a Cessna 620. Just thought it was a cool plane

WBG, I thought the tip tanks were from an earlier Cessna 310 and with the 4 engines I was going to take a guess at a Cessna 620 as a joke! (310 x 2) [X(] Thats funny. I tried to cheat and did a search on multi-engine Cessnas but came up empty.Pretty cool bit-o-history, thanks.

LOL that was funny. Logical thinking though! Here is a sight with the info on it. Just search Cessna 620 for more. I accidently found it a while back looking for info on a 310. In the back of my mind, after I build this DS Connie, I want to tackle the 620. Probably be around 80" span and electric. I still have the nosen 310 plans thanks to Bill that Im working on redoing the wing in CAD. Im going to do it both ways, wood ribbed and foam. Seems the older I get, the more enjoyment I get out of scratch building. Ok. out to the lab I go should get some paint stencils today for two planes that I can finally finish up and out the door.

Did some running around today so not much building. I did finally get the left wing panel glued up yesterday and just need to glue in the landing gear blocks before starting the sheeting. I went to Home Depot for some wood to cut the blocks from. Then I'll start bending the main landing gear parts.
I'm trying to re-organize my work area so it's a bit neater, and I have more room for when this thing starts to get larger. I also took a detour on the way home to a local airport to look around but no 310's. One of the pilots/instructors took me into the main hanger to check out a J3 Cub and a Citabria they had just sitting there being ignored and he was telling me he used to fly a 310 for a local plastics company until they decided to sell it and purchase a pressurized 340. I could have listened to his stories for hours... Nice guy

Hope we can find each other there! I'll have my Wisconsin baseball cap on. It's a pretty huge place even if you have some distintive features like this:

Well I just got back from the Lebanon R/C Flea Market and I must say it was pretty crowded! I didnt run into Clavin01 there but I did see some old friends. One of the LHS owners was there with what seemed like his entire store. They're going out of business after 50 years and will be sadly missed. He had a built and ready to fly Royal Cessna 310 with 2-2 strokes for $400.00 but that area was crazy busy and I didnt get a chance to look it over too well. Would like to have it!!! [] I did buy some servo extensions and "Y" connectors I can use, then as I was leaving there were some guys with a outside getting rid of planes at almost any price,so I picked up a Super Sportster .60 for $15.00 crudely assembled but straight, so I might hack it into another twin in the future...

Sorry I missed you. I was there today as well. Picked up a few things I needed for the 310
Have the fuel tanks and fuel dots for it and Fuel tubing. Also picked up a Triton EQ2 charger
and some other stuff. I looked at the Royal 310 it was a older model and a little rought
nothing a little work could not fix. A lot of decent models there This year.

Well, another long week at work! Looks like I will be doing very little if anything after I get home every day. At this rate it'll take me 2 years to build the 310. I can't wait that long...I wanted one of these for many many years and now the wait will be even longer...[] TSE is not a happy camper. On the other hand it beats being out of work..... Never mind
