Hi All,
I live in Michigan about an hour north of Detroit. I happened across this thread and thought some of you might be interested in something I have for sale. I am helping a friend sell her fathers giant scale planes and parts. He recently passed away. I am not new to RC planes, but I do not build giant scale.

He was in the middle of building a Cessna 310. I do not have the plans or whose plans he was using. Unfortunately, the plans and the foam cut fuse has been lost. I have the complete 124 inch wing which needs to be sheeted on the top side. The ailerons are done and hinged, but the control rod connection needs to be completed. The vertical stab is sheeted with hinged elevators. The retracts (nose wheel and mains) are electric and made by "The Likes Line" which through my research seem to be very desirable. The struts are about 7/8" in diameter.

I can sell the retracts separately and ship them to a buyer. If anyone is interested in the airframe parts and/or both it would have to be local pick up.

Here are some pics and a youtube video link showing the retracts functioning.

If anyone is interested here is my e-mail [email protected]. I have more pics and info regarding the retracts.

Best I can tell this is not a Bud Nosen Cessna 310 unless it has been heavily modified, never heard of one
or plans for one that had a foam fuselage at a wingspan of 124". Also the Likes Lines nose gear is not to the
correct angle of 105 degrees that the earlier Cessna 310's had, it looks more to the later model 310's similar
to the "R" models. The Hostetler 310-R model only has a 112" wingspan and the Bud Nosen was 120". Not
sure what you have there without a set of plans. You would probably have better luck getting someone to buy
it if you listed in the "For Sale Classified Ads" section here on RCU.

Terry you might give Greg @ G & L an e-mail and ask him if he has a set of vaccu-formed
windows for the fiberglass 310 as he is the one that produces it and I know that he does
have the capabilities to vaccu-form canopies and other similar items.

I noticed a few posts ago someone was asking about the retracts Hobbyking use to carry for their 80" T-28. HobbyKing no longer carries them but I did find them at HobbyEasy, Here is the link. http://www.hobbyease.com/air-retract...-28-p1518.html... I was wondering if the eletric conversion Robart sells for their set will fit them?
Thanks for the prints Bill. I'm going to have them printed next week and start gathering.

Happy Flying or Building

I noticed a few months ago that someone was looking for the retract HK use to sell for there T-28, I found someone that does sell them. Here is the link.
http://www.hobbyease.com/air-retract...-28-p1518.html. I was wondering if the Robart elec. conversions will work with them. I may have to order a set and the nose gear conversion from Robart to find out.
Thanks for the prints Bill, I'll have them printed out next week and start gathering parts and pieces.
I have read through the entire thread and found a lot of information about this plane. I thing it's a great looking bird and a design way ahead of it's time. makes me wonder what mr. nosen would have done differently had he designed it with the servos, engines and radios we have today.

Happy Flying and Building

This being post # 1406, gents would you believe that one month from today I started this
thread 3 years ago to share info about this particular aircraft and our fond love and memories
of the Bud Nosen Cessna 310, along the way we lost our hero Bud Nosen but I'm sure he is
up there in the skies having a blast flying with the rest of the other aero modelers and
designers that were of his era and those that were there before and after him.

It is my desire and hope that this thread will continue to grow more in the coming years, so
if you have something to share or even new photos of your Nosen Cessna 310, jump on in
and post a few.

As for myself, being retired now, I have finally gotten my shop arranged so that I will be able to
soon get started on my 310.

The next time my friend Bill gets his Nosen 310 out I will get some GOOD footage with my high def cam. I have been looking thru some old stuff I have and its not very good.. I don't know if it always looked that bad or time has just eaten up what quality it once had.

Someone a few months ago bought the 80" T28 landing gear from HK. Then someone else was looking for them and couldn't find them. I found them and an attaching a link}http://www.hobbyease.com/air-retract-set-for-80-t-28-p1518.html{link. They are almost $200.00 with freight. The nose strut would have to be extended to match the Robart strut, and if I did the math right the Robart electric change over would fit.

The Youtube footage I was looking at of the 310's wasn't all that good, But I chalked that up the old technology of video equipment then.

Bill l got the plans and am going to get them printed next week. I was doctor retired in 2010. I use to live in Houston, TX and make excellent money. But I know what you mean about a budget. I would go back to work in a heartbeat If I could get a doctor to sign off a release.

I found a place to get air retracts that will work on the 310. The main gear struts are a 1/2" shorter than the robarts, the nose gear is about 3"s shorter than the robarts. If I did the math right the elec. conversions from robart will fit.

If memory serves me correctly, new members with less than a certain number of posts have to have there initial posts reviewed
by this forums moderators, just to stop, spammers, ect. and all the other bad stuff out there.

I hear what you are saying, as for myself I turned 67 last May and have been working since I was 13 (raised on a rice farm), and it is hard
for me to get used to not getting up at 4:30 every morning, when I have been doing it all life. But unfortunately even if I wanted to go back to
work and I would in a heart beat also, my wife's medical problems and concerns take a front row seat at the moment. I pick up spare money
working contract delivery for car dealerships, that need vehicles taken or delivered locally or short haul dealer transfers from other dealerships
usually just 5 to 6 hours round trip, helps out with the house grocery money and also the model budget.

A flying buddy of mine and I share a shop and it's way too small. Right now I have a TF T-34 almost ready for glass. I gave up on retracts for it. I want elec. too many nightmares with air. I got watch Top Gun almost ever year and see way too many of them have problems with air. I'm just getting into bigger planes. I have mostly been into .46 - .60 size. The T-34 is suppose to be a .60, but I can't see a .60 flying a 25 lb. plane all that well so I'm installing a FA 100t saito in it. I like building a lot better than flying. I was an assembly engineer for a metel fab shop in Houston.

I'm having a hard time finding anyone around here that can print the plans. A friend told me about a place, but gotta check them out. I hate having to drive 80 miles round trip to do things.
