Just picked this up and am looking forward to doing it electric. Fixed gear no flaps airframe weight is right at 24#.
Bought this from the original family who flew it on twin K&B 61's. This is about 35 years old.
From reading the CG should be about 5.5" from the leading edge at the center of the wing?
Can anyone tell me what does the plans show for the bolt to retain the outer wing to the center section?
The outer wing rod is threaded but a 2-56 does not fit.

I don't know what they would have used 35 years ago. I'm going to use 1/4 - 20 nylon bolts on the one I'm starting.

If you are referring to the "Wing Tube" that connects the center section with the outer wing panels, on the original
that Bud Nosen built, the plans show 3/8" sheet metal screws, I think that was meant to be the length of the screws
and they were probably either a # 2 or #4 size sheet metal screw. However what I would suggest is to drill it out and
re-tap the hole size to a 6-32 threaded hole through the entire thickness of the inner and outer aluminum tube, top &
bottom.

Really nice looking aircraft you came into, looks to be well built, nice color scheme, if you check back a few pages, one of
our members did one electric, you might check with him to give you some info and tips on the one he did.

Enjoy the 310, if you need me to email the plans files, just ask............

A good friend flew his Nosen 310 today.. when I pulled in to the field and looked over he was beyond knife edge going inverted at 30 feet max height ! Then I went behind the clubhouse and feared the worse.. I heard no crash and when I pulled along the building he was walking my way.. no plane in sight ! I thought it was a goner. Little did I know he had an engine go sour and had made a BRUTAL turn and gear up landing to save it...and thats just what he did ! Here are a few pics after he got it back to the pits and on the gear ...

Another friend took video of a less eventful flight earlier that day, so he should be loading it up on youtube. Here is the video link.

Now for me that would have been the end of the flying for that day. Glad to hear it wasn't on for trash can.

Hi gang, I've been neglecting my 310 project far too long as well.

One thing I have been thinking about is what to use as far as an onboard power system. I've looked at the Smart Fly systems, but they don't seen to have one set up for a twin engine model. Not sure if it's wise but I would like to see a system that supplies the power for both ignition systems for gassers as well as the other onboard requirements.

Anybody have more knowledge in this regard?

Terry.

Hello,
I am abbout to start a Nosen 310 from plans. I read that HK has a set of giant scale retract that would fit this plane.
Can someone send me the URL link, I looked on line but can't find it.
Much appriciated.

Thank you

Jerry

Best I can tell, they don't make the retracts anymore. I wanted to order a set also, and I think they're gone. They were for a giant scale T28, but I don't think they are making them any more. I'd like to know as well if you find out different!
thanks,
Bryan

Nope! I'm in the same boat! I've got the kit, G&L Hobbies fiberglass, and engines. Just missing the retracts!

Any chance the ESM T-28 retracts would work?

I don't think they are heavy duty enough for the 310.

There has to be a Chinese knock off at half the price somewhere, Robart needs a little competition on this market.

Hi 310 club members . Due to continuing back and hip problems I have decided to part with my 310 stuff . I had a Nosen kit completed another un box and a G&L glass set all of which went to a local friend. what I have remaining is a lightly used set of Robart pnuematic retracts in great shape . They have been boxed up for quite a while so they need cleaning and lubing and probably the orings should be replaced . A new set is over 750.00 I will let these go to a member at a reasonable price . If they don't go here then I will offer them on the sale site. Please PM me privately if interested.

If anyone is interested, I have a Nosen 310 kit I'm going to sell. I'm in the process of downsizing and some things just need to go.
I'm located in Cecil County Maryland.

been a while since I said hello my friends! the 310 still hangs up for now ! I bought her flying from a guy who had it monakoted with 2 91 F/S surpasses , don't know how that flew, anyway brought in into the shop and stripped it down to bare wood and get it a coat of 3/4 oz cloth and z poxy. since then I put her on the shelf just waiting to get interior done and windows in place before priming. Has anyone ever used twin G 45 zanohas if so please let me know how performance was. those small aluminum pipes seem mighty small for 2 big gassers and heavy painted airframe !

AND BTW anyone that wants a set of plans for the Bud Nosen Cessna 310 can get get them from
from me as I have them scanned and will forward them via e-mail to anyone that asks for them
at no charge...............

Once you get them all you have to do is download to a CD and take to a blue print shop for printing
or I can recommend RCU member "Hemikiller" to do your printing for you at a very reasonable cost.

Bill D.

Hi Bill. Are you still offering the Nosen 310 plans? If so, I'd like to get a set and also have your buddy print me a set of prints if he would please. Please send to: [email protected]

Thank you!

OK Alan, your request has been filled and files sent to Hemikiller for printing,
now you just have to become a "Bud Nosen Cessna 310 Club Member".

Hi Bill,
Just a question here. On page 55 you said I was # 71 (IFLYSLO), and on page 57 you said richgrabach from Fl. was # 71. Just want to clarify.

Thanks

OK I just went to my file on my computer and it seems that all of the new persons that joined the Cessna 310 past #61 have diasappered from the list so I guess I need to go back through the thread and re-do a new list.

IFLYSLO you are #70 and richgrabach is #71.

I will have to post an updated list as soon as I can compile one.........

Thanks,

Bill D.
