Default Beechcraft Duke

I am hoping that someone can help me.

I am interested in scratch building a Beechcraft Duke. I have not been very successful in finding any three views with fusalage cross sections. I have seen a couple of posts from individuals that have been able to get detailed information from Beechcraft quite a few years ago. I have tried to contact the people who posted, but as of yet have still been unable to get anything with the level of detail I was hoping to get.

I was successful in contacting Raytheon and though helpful, they could not help me with much more than the owners manual and copies of any maintenance directives. If someone has this type of information and would like to share or sell a copy of it, I would be interested and greatly appreciative.

Regards,

James

Contact the retailers. They should have information and three views.

I like the King Air myself.

Hi, I had one a few years ago by Roedel modellbau from Germany, the kit is not in production anymore. Great fast & beautiful flyer with twin os60 engines with aprx 90" span, large fowler flaps made landings practical, but fast. This was my favorite plane, but at last destroyed in crosswind landing in windy conditions ! I´ll check if have any drawings left!

Greetings Hannu, Finland

Hannu,

that is a beautiful model! That's exactly what I want to build even down to the color scheme. Looks like it would be a great candidate for electric power as well. Any images or information would be greatly appreciated!

Avaiojet,

By retailers, do you mean the plastic model manufacturers? I love the KingAir as well. Spent some time in a C90 with a Raisbeck Conversion. Eventhough a better airplane, the Duke has a special place for me.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. Growing up my father had a few Dukes. I have spent quite a bit of time flying around in real ones. I even had an emergency landing on foam in one when the nose gear would not extend. Great Airplane, the only achilles heal of the design was the engines and the necessary maintenence to keep them operable. I would love to make a model version.

Regards,

James

James,

By retailers, I ment those that sell the actual aircraft. Google a search, bet there's plenty for sale by dealers and owners.

Wow!! What a great looking model.

I´m sorry, only items I have left are engine cowlings, three views and Century jet custom made nosegear..so not to much help to your project, perhaps you ask directly original drawings from Roedelmodellbau from Germany!

Greetings, Hannu

Hello Hannu,

If the three views are of the plane, I might be able to use them and work up the fusalage shape from photographs I have. More difficult. but certainly possible.

Regardless, Thank you very much for looking.

Regards,

James

Believe it or not. I have one I bought 4 years ago. A lot of work but complete aircraft I think. I'm wondering, what is going to fit into the body when it is missing and for servos. is there anything you have to make yourself for this model?

I think it is the only Beech Duke kit in that size that was available then. Still a nice plane.
