Brushless ESC question for hovercrafts
I'd like to go backwards.
Currently, I have no issues, except for that. I'm using a Great Planes Rimfire 300 and compatible ESC, but it has no reverse function.
My question is, can I use a car ESC with a reverse function along with my current motor, or would I have to replace the motor as well?
I was thinking something like this: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idproduct=7189

RE: Brushless ESC question for hovercrafts
Nope, should work fine with your motor as long as it carries enough current for your motor.
Edit to add:
I looked up your motor it should work. depending upon the plug setup for the receiver connection.

Just one thought...
Unless you are using a separate controller for you lift fan/blower when you reverse thrust it will slam your hovercraft into the ground.
