To ake the washers out of lead sheet or brass rob would be expensive! Lead being the worst, a 1" length of copper rod [onlinemetals.com] would weigh ±1/4#

A 1" length of 1"OD copper rod would give you a 1/4# weight, if you have room for a 1-1/2"OD rod it will double that weight. Thought of lead, but you would have to sell the wife of kid to buy some!

RE: Land yacht build.
Finished mounting the 'base' ballast weight, and also bunged the top of the mast and cut the winch arm so fr this week.
The ballast can be stacked with more plate to add weight and can easily add up to way over a kilo on each side but the lowest weight is around 100g.
the winch arm has several mounting hole and I might drill more too. It's steel so will take a huge amount if strain unlike the plastic ones.
i don't know if I will get time to sew the sails this weekend but I aum to start bringing home the yacht this week.

Just lots of small jobs now, like countersinking mounting holes ect then clean up all the welds, I'm gonna look at just getting it etch primed at work and then doing the rest of the painting at home as I might do some nice designs on it which isn't possible at work

Not much to report today, did a bit of fettling and countersunk the screws, also changed the brass screws for stainless ones for added strength.
Started to ship all the parts home, I cycle to work so its not possible to being it all at once.
