R/C Snowcross Team
Hey all! I've recently acquired several types of rc sleds (all the toy grade types) and have been following builds here and around. I've gotten a good fast model to run of the Blade/Polaris type chassis and am working on two arctic cats and have a large mxz on the way. Ive been tinkering for a few months and am finding it easier to modify them now.
Im finishing up the initial prototype model for my classed racers (keep melting stock transmission, need belt drive). Cookie cutter type build will make the team easy to assemble.....
My plan is to start up a local rc club in my little town and have these available for the club to have organized classed snowcross races. Its a bit of a first as I havent seen anyone else try and do this like I am. Any help or tips are always appreciated.
I will post some photos shortly of what I have, and what ive done. My plans are to make custom suspension systems for them all the way around as well as finding a better type of track material as i know these ones wont last forever. Im not sure if these older tracks are still available from interactive toys anymore. The ones I see now are narrower and a softer compound.
Right now I am going for an inexpensive build. better faster upgrades will come at a later time.

The Sleds....
I've attached some photos of my current progress. I just received a partially modified blue polaris that is not pictured here. I've made a realistic cut track pattern that hugely improves the sleds grip on snow and doesnt cube it and slide it away like the stock tread bars do.

These are toy grade 1:8th scale snowmachines made by interactive toys. I just attempted to install my belt drives into my black polaris and found that I need to make some bushings and bearing plates. Now that the stock gears are being eliminated cause the low turn motors melt the gear carriers from friction, its back to the drawing board.
One of my friends has a few new polaris liberty sleds like what pictured here that hes going to donate for the project.
