RE: Miscalleaneous RC Aircraft Forum
Sorry Guys,
I have been out of town at Tripple Tree Aerodrome for the Southeast Regional Championships for IMAC. I think we have enough interest in a NEW forum to have it set up. I will take that up with the Admins.....
Thanks for all of your input and support.......

W.C.,
I didn't catch this until I saw the announcement in some of the other forums. Great idea, and a place for creative or just plain "weird" ideas that won't get lost, as you mentioned.
When I was a kid, I thought the "Flying Sub" from "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" was the coolest thing around.

That "ügly puppy"was actually a very good topdressing / cropduster aircraft down in this part of the world, ( around the seventies and eighties).
I remember seeing it at a local airshow - in my rearview mirror!, I was rolling slowly along watching a glider land, and when I looked in my mirror, there it was, with the pilot waving furiously at me to move over, and let him get to the refuelling station.
I think that the fertiliser and fuel was carried just behind the engine, and there was also a little passenger cabin at the back.
Perhaps someone will know more about it than I do, I would welcome more info.
UPDATE:- Seems it was called an "AIRTRUCK", it was manufactured in Australia and did a good job, however it was dangerous in a crash as it tended to roll forward crushing the pilot, - in many cases the pilot was killed.
Why not just rename the forum to " Unusual & Miscellaneous aircraft", or "Miscellaneous & Unusual Aircraft". and make one good forum rather than two lesser ones.

Cool forum, I usually mess with cars but this one caught my attention.
A Plane like the little "puppy" or whatever it is was also in one of the Mad Maxx movies with Mel Gibson.

This thread has gotten lost again and since there is alot of renewed interest in Unmanned Air Vehicles (formerly (RPVs) I would like to see the contributions that "modelers" are making to this industry. We all know of the success of the Predator UAV that is firing Helfire missles in Iraq, but there is literally Bilions of dollars available out there for all sorts of Unmanned aircraft that will keep our troops out of harms way and provide the intelligence and defense mechanisms we need to support our country.
Genreal Autonomics Aeronautical Systems is hiring pilots as well as fabricators to keep up with the high demand the government has placed on the Predator. Anyone want a job?

It is kind of a screwy looking airplane with spindly landing gear.
