Forget Google, go to [link=http://www.copernic.com/en/index.html]Copernic[/link] and download their Agent. It's the best search software I've ever seen.
For a 3-view, you bay have to buy [link=http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1857801466/104-2914084-6623151?v=glance]Russia's Ekranoplans: The Caspian Sea Monster and Other Wig Craft[/link]
Also check out [link=http://www.du-groundeffect.com/]Designs Unlimited[/link] They have a couple R/C WIG's in either Kit or plans that look like they've got it figured out.
I'm in the preliminary stages of building a WIG based on the [link=http://www.svensons.com/boat/?p=HydroPlanes/minimax]Minimax[/link]
Gotta do something with that 7.5HP Mercury sitting in the garage.

Don't use Copernic. It is spyware. If it only gobbles your bandwidth, you are lucky. I have seen it crash several of my client's computers. Nothing is free on the internet. You will pay for it eventually. Stick with Google.

RE: WIG (Wing in Ground Effect)
Well,
After a bunch of research, I have decided to produce a set of AutoCAD Plans plans for the Flightship FS8.
Preliminary span will be 51 inches and 57 inches in length. Built up fuse, foam sheeted removable wings........looks like a good candidate for electric and LiPo's..........more to come.

Elf,
I think the company is in a transition, there was some financial trouble a while back and it is/was being bought out by a new firm. The price for this model (FS-8)is about 800K...........
I have increased the span to 60 inches for the plan.

RE: WIG (Wing in Ground Effect)
I enjoy the diversity of styles and formats in our hobby but ground-effect,hmmmm,not a plane, not a boat, just a silly idea going nowhere if you ask me!don't all start rubbishing me please it's just my opinion.if it was a good idea the u.s. would have taken it further, just as they did when they stole english technology to break the sound barrier!oops, now i am going to get it for that one!

RE: WIG (Wing in Ground Effect)
i think WIG has as much potential as hovercraft ( in water at least ), only they are faster but only really good on calmish water. can't cross the Atlantic on one.
They would make perfect 2 man pleasure craft for island hopping or cruising the med.
The reason the US didn't take the idea further is very simple, they are surrounded by BIG seas with BIG waves that would cause trouble to WIGS, the Sea Monster was tested on the Caspian sea which is really just a huge lake.
I don't know where they intended it's use but it was more of a fast attack ship for use on wet boats in localish waters than to cross over to the US and launch anything. probably a self defense weapon for ships getting close to their shores, it could rush out and get to them before they got to close to home.
I'd like a RC WIG but I'd be an alone man toy
my Diamond Dust in the right wind will sit in ground effect 4-5" up for the length of the field when i get it right, good enough for me.

RE: WIG (Wing in Ground Effect)
you might still find my wig page on my site if that parts still up.
my dust is a 150mph delta.
your wig design looks ok, but you might want that tail higher so it's right out of ground effect it's self.

RE: WIG (Wing in Ground Effect)
WIG's were originally designed to carry huge amounts of weight at a reltively high speeds not so much as a weapon of war. Think big inland lakes and protected sea areas where the waves aren't too big.
