Hi everyone,

R/C Skydiving has actually been around for quite some time, RCM had a article back in 1976.
I don't know who should get the credit for building the first one.
I have only been doing it for about four years.
There was also an article that appeared in Model Aviation Oct. 2002 that was written by John Sedovic our skydiving friend from St. Louis MO. The pictures used for the article were taken in Sept. 2001 at the rally held at the AMA facility in Muncie IN.

From what I hear R/C Skydiving it quite popular in Europe, and they are very good at hitting the target.

C.R. Fowler has written an article on the R/C skydive rally that was held at the Henry County Wright Flyers field in Indiana on Sept. 20-21, 2003.

It is posted on his website and also has a few pictures.

guys, just in case anybody is interested, I just put my solomon rc brand new skydiver up for sale in the marketplace. It is in the scale gas or glow section. Didn't know where else to put it. Anyway, check it out and PM me if interested. There is nothing wrong with it, and it still sitting in the same box as it was recieved. I just don't have time to get to it right now.

Hey Guys, I think I figured out how to size my pics so they will fit!!! Here are some pics of the 2003 AMA Skydiving Rally. Team member Wil Jones next to his bulls eye landing with his Solomon R/C skydiver. Second is the whole group that competed. Third is Solomon R/C Team member Gary Vanfossen's drop plane, a very nice rebuild of a Nosen Trainer. Fourth is Paul Reiner's beautiful Wilga drop plane. Talk to you soon!!!!

Hey guys,
Just finished my Skydiver and my friend and I worked on the jump plane this past weekend. Now as soon as we get a warm day, my skydiver will be making his first jump. I am new to this sport but my brother has been doing it for about a year now and loves it. We have a Hangar 9 1/4 Decalthon for our jump plane and my friend is already in the process of getting his own skydiver after seeing mine. I will make sure to post some pics after my first jump. One more thing do you guys hold fly-ins or should I call them jump-ins? If so I would be interested in attending one and meeting some of you guys. thanks

Wil,
My skydiver originated from the SkydiveUSA but my Brother made quite a few improvements, such as redesigned to arms to move farther plus he manufactured some new brackets to make it look better. I will take some pictures and and post them. My chute is from R/C Skydive USA. It looks like this weekend is going to be good to make a jump, so I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for the info.

My brother would have the drawings that you are looking for and you can email him a [email protected]. I am using Hitec HS-77 servos they are low profile and have 77 oz of torque. Hope that helps.

Wil,
Thanks, my chute is an Army Golden Knights Chute from Skydiver USA, very nice. I just received your video and I have to say good job, it is a very nice video. I am still waiting to make the first jump, but the weather is not cooperating. I will make sure to post more pics once I make the maiden jump.

Hi Guy's and Gal's,
Well here we are again!! Another year is almost gone since Joe Noll 2003. The responce from us being at Joe Noll 2003 was so good Ive decided instead of doing a spring Rally at this time we should focus on putting on a big demo at Joe Noll 2004 at least Fri. and Sat.. I'm going to contact the guys who wanted to do the TV spot on R/C Skydiving and see what they think. This is the ultimate place to get R/C Skydiving out to the modeling community. What I would really like to see is a R/C Skydiving booth set up under our 18' x 30' tent with all the guys who are producing Skydivers working together to promote R/C Skydiving. Last year only one drop was made at half time and we were swamped for the next two days answering questions at our skydiving booth. If we can make a mass drop ( I will have the 4 to 6 man drop plane done!!! Maybe even two ) we can even try for a record. Who has ever made a mass drop of radio control skydivers. Maybe even Jim Boone can come with his four man drop plane. 12 to 16 skydivers in the air all at once!! Just think of the pile-up on the landing spot!!!!

Well what do you think??? May Joe Noll -- July Wil Jones Rally Let me know!!!!!!!! Who Can Come???? Ken

Hello Guys,
I made my first jump this weekend and I have good and bad news. The First jump the one arm was stuck in the down position so he just spiralled to the ground. Fixed that and the second jump went great, but here come the bad news. On the third jump he dirt dived and now I am in the process of glueing him back together. [&o] This was my first time with R/C Skydiving and I had a blast. Hopefully I can make a Rally this year. Does anybody host one in the Northeast? THanks

Hi Scott, Wasn't the thrill incredible???? No matter what happens that feeling of I can't wait to get it ready to go again!! And then theres that feeling just when the drop plane is at drop point and its time to say let him go. Its that same feeling that happens just before you take off a brand new model on its first trim flight, but it happens on every drop. Glad you had a blast!!
Jim Langley is up in your area and he is planning on a rally in the summer sometime. What about making Joe Noll in May???? Wil Jones is in July????
Talk to you soon!!

Ken,
The Joe Noll fly-in is definitely I would like to attend since I also fly Giant Scale aircraft, but that is quite a drive from Delaware. It is a possiblity but it will depend on if I can get some friends to take the trip with me.
