Default What can I build with an old vacuum motor?

I have a partially broken vacuum and the parts are just crying out to be transformed into something fun. Any links to someone who has use a vacuum motor to power an rc car? is it possable to use a speed control with it? any ideas? thanks all

i think you may find the vacuum motor to be a one of those single speed AC type motors. No speed controllers will work on it. Make yourself a handy ventilation system for your work shop. Keep you from gettin buzzed when painting a model

sell it to some sap for about $15. i did that with two motors out of vaccums i found laying in alleys of poor neighborhoods and i sold them to a kid at school for $15 each.

You could make a vacuum form box. Use it to make plastic molds of cowls, canopies ect.

Have you ever watched Myth Buster? They built a man sized hover board from a vacumn motor, using duct tape, Blue board and window plastic!!!!
