Flying hydroplane boat???
I saw a clip once of 2 flying hydroplane boats. They started out zipping around the lake like normal boats do, and all of a sudded one of them went into a rolling verticle and was floating around like a plane. Has anyone ever seen one of these? I'm looking for more info on it.

Hi,
I'm probably the only one here who doesn't no this but what power system does it use? Prop or jet or ducted fan? Would it work with a prop?

brushless speed 400 class outrunner and lipos are about the best combination. you MIGHT be able to get it airborne with a brushed motor, but lipos are pretty much a requirement for weight reasons. a ducted fan doesn't have enough low end torque for this... it is a tractor prop between the front sponsons, 8x4 inch slowflyer on mine.

RE: Flying hydroplane boat???
Thanks,
I should phrased my question differently but I was under the impression these craft used glow but I guess they don't...oh well. Would it work witha glow engine say a .45? Also am I right in believing that its the body inbetween the floats that generates lift?
Thanks for all ur help Chris.

He he, toss the boats power onto a brick and it will fly, I'm hooked though, you can't beat having an RC plane, boat, and car, all in one, it's just the cat's meow.
Build light enough to handle your power train, it will work if you keep that in mind, it's just a boat with a spoiler and big motor and wheels and I'm sure a ton of technical crapola, hehe.

Hey guys... sorry to break this news..
I got the same exact video from http://www.china-toy-factory.com/newrccarnewrcboat.htm and I believe that the videos comes from RCGroups.com
Now that those idiotic china guys got hold of your video, they added a watermark and advertise on their websites!
I am really freakin pissed bout these.. An un-professional way of doing business. [:@]

hehe, I call it lazyness, you'd think if you sold those, you'd create your own vid, at least use a cheap still camera and do a quick 10 second video or something. I suppose us Yanks need to do them one up and create one that suburges under the surface of the water like a sub as well as the rest......

I do not see why it would not work on glow power, as long as you get a good relationship between power/weight/size/balance.
