Yes in deed.. Did not mean to interupt the newbrite forum, but there was no place to talk snowmobiles in general.. Thanks for making this thread.. Peace. Ronnie.

well guys thought i would check this thread out ron love the paint job man, i didnt mean to come off as such an well you know what. now looking at the artattack i really do think it is very easy to make a metal tunnel for it that might look in comparison to a articcat mountain cat if you have seen one before if not check out artic cat on the web i would really like to give it a shot on making a prototype for yall. let me know ron you have my contact information if i get a sled from yall i can have it built in about a week thanks again and yall take care !

Got my Sled today, got some pictures here. Gonna get my hood painted by entity. I have to order the gears and get a turn buckle and some ball cups for the servo. Later.

RE: Art Attack Nitro/Electric Snowmobile Thread
Here's a picture of one of a few different styles of aluminum tunnels I've started to put together for my personal Artattack & Newbright snowmobiles.
This one's going to be set up as a drag sled. Good for hard packed snow and icy conditions only.
The stock track's too narrow on these things to make this into much of a deep powder sled, so it's getting some short studs. My sled's drive sprocket is already set up for two rows of studs, and the tracks already marked from the factory for stud placement. Very nice of them
The clutch bell needs some TLC & new bearings. The drive gear and belt is pretty worn on my sled, so I'm not sure it'll run after all this... If not I'll try to order some new stuff, or fab up somthing different (gears?, belt? chain?). We'll see...

RE: Art Attack Nitro/Electric Snowmobile Thread
Upon further inspection of my Artattack's front end assembly, it looks like I've got a lot more custom work to do.[]
The whole suspension set up was completely rotten, and turned to dust when I tried to remove it.
It's very straight forward to reproduce out of aluminum. This will give me a chance to widen the stance, and raise the front end up at least a 1/4" from its current ride height too.
I can see why the last owner of this sled gave up on it. There's more broken parts, than unbroken ones!
Back to work...

Ouch looks a little over tightened or somthing Also I was wondering, is your steering servo saver loose? mine has a lot of play in it, it makes it difficult to steer.

RE: Art Attack Nitro/Electric Snowmobile Thread
I've never run mine.
It was a used and badly abused sled that I picked up a few months ago at my local hobby shop.
The main reason I bought it was for the brand new motor inside. I figured it'd just sit on the shelf along side my other retired r/c's.
The servo saver set up does seem a bit extreme, but prob that way for a reason. Trying to "dry steer" a real sled's a ***** too, but on the correct surface steers with very little effort. * you can always put a spacer or two in there to tighten up the spring *

RE: Art Attack Nitro/Electric Snowmobile Thread
i converted my(nitro) artattack to elect with a brushless setup and used maxx parts for the front end to widen it and bulletproof the arms..max shocks instead of the original ones... am working on the tunnel (aluminum)
just need to find the guy that makes tracks so i can lengthen it... the seat and hood were upgraded by snatching them off my wally-world skidoo... i also took a spur gear from my maxx and incorporated it into the steering allowing more turning power from the hi-torq servo...

RE: Art Attack Nitro/Electric Snowmobile Thread
I had a fast electric mono hull with a giant brushless motor a few years ago, that I used to race locally.
You could run 12-14 cells with no overheating problem, as it was also water cooled.
The major problem for me, was that it took approx 40mins to peak charge two battery packs with only one charger, and only got 6-8 minutes of run time. That was fine for a short 4-5 minute race, but kinda sucked when you just wanted to and play with it.
I only say kinda, because for those 6-8 minutes it would run a consistant 40mph. [8D] (as long as it was calm enough)
How are the new brushless motors in comparason to the older ones? Better run times?
I've seen them used on the Hydrofoam with great results, but no clue as to how long each charge will last.
Post some more pictures/video once everything's put together & ready to roll. I want to see one of these Artattack's go!
Still waiting for some snow to fall here![]

RE: Art Attack Nitro/Electric Snowmobile Thread
Hey guys. My brushless art attack project is finally done. I have it all set up and this thing flys. I have no snow here, just grass and its tearing it up. I can put up a good fight with this sled. I will have some videos up soon, it was to dark tonight to do it. Heres some finishing Pictures.
None of this would of been possible with out the help of Entity. Thanks man!

RE: Art Attack Nitro/Electric Snowmobile Thread
It's Almost winter time and ne need to get this thread back in shape!
I just got a new one with the sme problems with the plastic suspension hardware. Replaced it with Aluminum and raised the height about 1/2" I now just need to figure out if i can slightly mod the rear suspension to get better movement and realistic feel
keep up the good work

I have never gone through one yet but you can get parts:
http://www.snowmobiletrinkets.com/gaspoweredrc.html
http://www.artattacksnowmobile.net/html/parts_list.html
An issue I have at times is the belt needs to be tightened once in awhile and ESC gets hot shutting down when in deep snow.
I have 2 and both seem to run best on snow on a parking lot versus a snow covered yard.
Tempted to trade mine for something or sell them both. I have around $800 invested in them which is foolish for me.

My interest is mainly boats.
