Any updates on this sled?

I also would like to modify one of these. I have purchased this sled yesterday with rider. I'm looking to gear this puppy down and add a Brushless 550 to it.

My goal is to have it do this:

Hey mine can do that techyjoe
I am working on a way to use gear drive instead of a belt this way it can be done for any of these sleds including yours.
Just have a look at some of my threads I will be posting pics of the new gear drive this weekend and a vid of my newest sled.

Wow - nice. That is exactly what I am talking about - my goal - wheelies !

I'll share YOUR video here: http://www.youtube.com/user/hurrican.../0/cmLnVT3Vo0U

Are you a machinist?

I am open for any suggestions.

I wish I had more time to build up my suspension out like that.

Would you say that your capability of performing the wheelie comes mostly from your transmission or from getting good grip from your suspension?

I'll need more time to read your new thread more thoroughly.

I believe my gearing on my New Bright gear train should be capable of doing this. But my replacement spur gear design didn't work out and I stripped the hexagon adapter I attached to the gear in about 5 minutes yesterday due to the torque produced on it from the gunning the nitro motor.

The new spur gear fits perfectly but the axle hole is not hexagon like the axle on the sled. So I attached an adapter. My new approach is going to be to piggy back (screw the old gear) onto the new gear.

I'll provide a picture tomorrow.

P.S - do you think a rider would restrict you sled from performing the wheeling due to the extra weight?

Is this "Radio, Batteries, Clubhouse and more" section typically where people working on snowmobiles post? I placed mine in the "Toy Grade" section but will move it if this is the better location:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_94...tm.htm#9407071

I see posts for snowmobiles all over the place. Maybe a whole new forum should be created for these beasts.

joe, Before the toy grade forums existed, we had several snowmobile related posts going here in unusuall RC, im a little supprised there so split up now.
But this was the original home,
We do need a snowmobile, or over snow forum, i made a post in the suggestions forum, if you add to it, it helps the cause.

TechyJoe

Well I would have to say capability of performing the wheelie on demand comes from the power of the motor and also the the way the suspention can move freely well its everything LOL

If you follow my new post and build the way I have you will not have any problems I have run a brushless on 6 cells that is close to 3hp and never had any problems.
if you need any help let me know I would be glad to lend a hand.
