Default Pics of my RC hovercraft

Here's my hovercraft...Kinda a prototype since I can't go on grass....I have to design a better bag system for it that doesn't collect any debris and is easy to make and put on. Right now it just scoops the air down with the scoop, then I have a picture of the bottom too I think it's the last one. Anyways, it pushes air out 3 small holes in the front. I've tried bigger holes and smaller holes but they both don't work.

Default RE: Pics of my RC hovercraft

In High school machine shop we made a hovercraft one person can ride in. Using a vacuum cleaner motor, and a inner tube from a semi tire. I wish I had the plans still. I took them and copied them and about 5 years ago I gave them to a guy for him to build for his kids.....he moved across country and haven't heard from him since. It was a simple design that worked great. I wish I could remember more about the build...but I am flustered trying to recall any of it. I will do some searching to see if that same plan exists online somewhere. We built it in 4 weeks (we machined all our own parts with exception of the motor) and would be easy to scale down. I bet a riding mower inner tube would be about the right size.

What did you use to power the vacuum motor? Did it plug in to mains?
