It was bound to happen. Ken Willard inspired me to think outside the box so I thought the next logical step for formation flying would be to tie four NitroPlanes Exceed FA-18c EDFs and make them fly.
OK..it needs a little tweaking but I'm definitely on the right track.
80" wingspan
92" length
8.5 lbs
70mm fan each
2200 4s 14.8v Lipo each
One Spectrum 7 channel 2.4 ghz receiver controling everything

For what it's worth, I've seen a picture of a similar aircraft (aircrafts?) using different models in a magazine a few years ago. It was done essentially exactly the way you've done it, and the pilot claimed it worked and flew well, so I guess that means you're on the right track! Keep it up!

too much flexing going on there...look at the assembly as one wing in mutiple sections...all sections of that wing..ie acft need to stay fixed relative to one another.i suggest using a geometric type of truss system utilizing say a square rather than rounded carbon frame for rigitity.a rigid frame will be the ticket,all else you seem to have worked out.good luck.thx.

yaw- follow the leaderI saw this maneuver some years ago at NAS Merimar with almost the same results.Good luck
