RE: Extreme Flight Edge 540T Construction Thread
On my profiles I like to ruote the antenna through an antenna tube out to the tip of the wing and back to the aileron and through an aileron bearing. This shot also shows a little cheap scuff insurance in the form of a couple of wing tip skids installed on the ailerons.

Mounting Servos
I think the best tool for installing servos is the "dead center" tool for the engine mount holes. Put the eyelets in the servo grommets, position the servo on the mounts and use the "dead center" tool to "drill" the screw holes. Then install the screws as you go!
Gets everything right in place and perfect alignment.
FYI!

RE: Mounting Servos
I elected to use a larger tank, 10 oz., than the stock tank, 6 oz. and I chose to mount it the way we used to mount our u-control tanks, with j-bolts and rubber bands and a piece of foam underneath.

RE: Mounting Servos
My choice for power on the Edge was an OS .46 FX with a Tower muffler. Although I have not tried the Tower muffler on this engine, it has been a good performer with a mousse can pipe on a couple of other planes.

RE: Mounting Servos
Huge ailerons, elevator, and large powerful rudder make for a great 3D ship.
I contacted Dennis Kirby of Kirby's Kustom Vinyl Graphics and asked him if he could help me make my Edge stand out amongst the many that are being put together now and Kirby's has done a wonderful job at just that. If you're looking for graphics for a current project or one that's comming up in the future, Kirby's can hook you up with some great stuff. RE: Mounting Servos
Well that just about does it for the construction part. I'll weigh it and post an honest all up weight soon along with a summation of the build.

RE: Mounting Servos
This project was a real joy to do based on the quality of the model. The Extreme Flight RC Edge 540T is wihout is without a doubt the highest quality ARF this modeler has run across to date. Extreme Flight has raised the bar in this field and surely given others something to shoot at in the way that ARF's are designed and constructed in the future.
The all up finished weight of the model came in at 4lbs-71/2ozs.
The equipment that I used in this project is as follows:
Servos - 4ea Hitech HS-425BB/1ea Hitech HS-81
Engine - OS .46FX/Tower Hobbies Muffler
Fuel Tank - Dubro 10oz
Landing Gear - Tetherite Krazy Legs
Graphics -Kirby's Kustom Vinyl Graphics
Switch - Electro Dynamics
I would like to thank Extreme Flight RC for producing such a well made model, Tetherite for the practically indestructible landing gear, Electro Dynamics for making the safest switch in the industry, and Kirby's Graphics for the beautiful art work that sets the model apart from all the other EF Edge's out there and says, this one is MINE.

RE: Mounting Servos
About a half inch behind the spar. I could probably be a little more creative with the battery and get it back a little more and maybe in the future I will.
