Default Battery upgrade??

My 22A barely has enough power to lift. More pitch just slows down the rotor speed, too. I think a battery change should fix that, but I'm nout sure which way to go. Right now it's a 650mah Nimh. Should I go to an 11.2v LiPo? If I do that will the LiPo burn out the receiver? Oh yeah, it's a brushed motor.

Thanks,

David

Hi Davidgp,

An 11.1 LiPo should be fine with the 22A receiver. It has it's own BEC.

Should do the trick also - But a brushless is better.

Keep in mind that the lack of a thrust bearing means that when it has flying pitch, it will pick up an extra degree or two the moment lift kicks in, adding a lot of drag, and causing "jump up" problems when flying.
