Default Walkera 36 G001 Right Turn Problem

Hey, thought I would throw out one last ditch question before I just buy a new gyro.

I have a G001 on my W36. I have tried just about every setting as far as sensitivity and AVCS/noAVCS. keep in mind I got this heli used but in good shape, don't know if the gyro was in a bad crash or not.

When hovering, left turns are great. If I hold 1/2 left stick, the heli will piro to the left until I let go. Real nice. When just making a left turn, the input is nice and responsive, and the gyro seems to work great.

Right turns are a disaster. If I am hovering and I give it 1/2 right tail rotor stick, it will turn to the right about 90 degrees then stay there. If I give it more stick it will turn more, but again stop. When I let go of the stick, the heli snaps back to the left about 1/2 way between where it started and where I was holding it.

Any ideas, PLEASE?

Here's a video of me flying it, you can kind of see what is happening. Left turns happen very nicely, whereas right turns don't quite make it all the way around.

Mine do exactly the same, i think G001 it's not a very good Gyro
I'm plannig to change it for a G006, I have read in forums that it's a good Gyro.

So there's one vote for a new Gyro (two if you count mine). Is the G007 a lot better than the G001? I have seen the G007 available new for about $38 which seems like a great deal for a decent HH gyro.

The g001 Gyro is a first gen walkera gyro. They havn't made those gyro's since the spring of '06. The g006, and g007 are very good gyro's for the money, they are easy to set up, plus the g007 can be adjusted via the tx if your tx has an extra channel. All there heli's that are produced since late'06 include either the g006, or g007.

Thanks, I have digital ATV on channel 5 so I'll definitely go with the 007 then. I just need something for basic sport flying, nothing crazy.

Huminsky,

Which transmiter do you plan to use to control G007?

It's posible use G007 with the Walkera standar 6 channels supplied with W36?

I'm using a JR x378 7 channel computer radio on mine. As far as I know, you can use the 007 with the stock walkera transmitter, you will just have to leave the channel 5 wire unplugged and adjust the gain using the knob on t he gyro, just like on the 001 or 006.

I ordered a G007 yesterday from helihobby.com, $45 shipped.

Are you sure that if its posible use G007 with the Gyro sensitivity input connector unplugged?
In whitch mode AVCS or NORM? whitch sensitivity?
Could you confirm with your new Gyro?

I'm planning to buy a new Gyro next month an buy a new radio at the end of the year, if G007 work well without sensitivity input i will buy it thinking in a new radio with aditional channel

thanks in advance

Well, Helihobby showed the 007 Gyro in stock when I ordered on Friday, but when it failed to ship out by the time I got home from work Tuesday I called them, and was told that the part was out of stock for at least 2 weeks, so I cancelled that order.

But yes, from what I have read the G007 will default to HH mode with the wire unplugged from CH5, as will most HH gyros with remote gain control.

I also have a falcon 3D which has a HH gyro with remote mode and gain control. I am using that gyro on the walkera right now, it is a night and day difference. The walkera is flying perfect with the falcon gyro. HH mode is 100% rock solid now, it turns perfectly in both directions as well.

This is the gyro I am using right now. Bottom of the page, ATS 63006. Works great.

I have the G001 on my first W#36, it holds the tail solid which was good for hovering, no so good for circuits, it is difficult to make turns. My second W#36 comes with the G006 which is much improved, work almost the same as my Futaba gy240.

Increase the EPA on both end of your Tx will up the tail authority, check the tail slider when it creeps to the end and make sure the servo is not stalling.
