Hey again guys,

I've got the pics of my aluminium case OK, but ev'rytime I try to post them they appear H-U-G-E................
It has always worked OK before from the same camera - so I'm puzzled[sm=confused.gif]
I'm to tired to try posting them again now - I'll try again tomorrow[sm=wink_smile.gif]

'Night all....

If you want to go with a direct drive, the parts are all E-Sky HB CP parts. Very cheap and easy to do.

Um..... do u have any experience in helis?  because if u would have got that trex 250. you would be pulling ur hair out in minutes after attempting to pilot it.

It is very hard to fly for a begginner pilot.

stick with the cb180 or grab a coaxial to practice with for a while.

and whats wrong with your cb180 i have one and havnt had any issues with it.

I got a walkera 180d about 3 weeks ago, I had a friend who flies cp helis come out to trim it in for me. first off when the servos hooked to aileron were centered the swash plate was way out of level. When you trimmed to where it was level there was no throw left one way and it still wanted to drift. My friend wasa able to fly it but could not get enough throw to get it to go to the right even with full trim and stick. Is there some way to adjust teh control rods? I held it in my had and run it up to see if I could get any yaw left and right got good yaw left as lots of throw on servo that way, when I tried right very little throw while holding it right heard a click it stripped a gear. forward and reverse are fine. Tried to register for Walkera forum never could get email confimation so could sign in and get help not impressed with Walkera at all.

So, what your saying is the swash is all the way tilted one way and it still wont go that way?

throw up some pics and describe your problems.

mine was pretty close out of the box. i did minimal trim and its a very stable heli.

When I got mine it was way too forward cyclic...so I just screwed in one of the rods and all is better now.

I was making a statement about the quality of the product
but thanks for your help john
the design is good but the materials use in its manufacturing are cheep
the metal parts are too soft and bend easly and screw heads stripe out way to easy
the plastic used is brittle and breaks easily

see i through R-T-F was Ready-To-Fly
but it don't it means Ready-To-Fix

each their own but only think i have broke are the junk blades, i converted to direct drive tail with the good rail blade (indestructable) and got the esky high perf. blades. they actually will bend b4 breaking.

do some research get a few good upgrades wont cost much and have fun.

Hehe, im not gonna say its the best quality out their ..... its by far not.... but for a cheap easy to learn on heli its not to shabby.. yes shabby...

Like any heli that says rtf ur gonna have to tweak it some and even go as far as adjusting the linkages some. its great to learn on and light enough that u can crash it several times with minimal damage if u got some decent blades.
mine got caught in a gust of wind hit so hard it blowed the canopy into pieces yet didnt harm any other parts. oh invest in some super skids also as stockers are super brittle also like the blades

Hey John,

When mine arrived (from [link=http://www.besthobbysite.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=150_152&products_id=13580]HERE[/link]) it was extremely well set up - I charged the lipo, put the AAs into the Tx - that's all! It took off straight and level - that was months ago now BTW.......It is the first time I have actually experienced real RTF

Peter[sm=shades_smile.gif]
P.S. I did change the blades after a couple of flights as I trashed the stock ones and read that [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/40pcs-Plastic-Blade-Esky-Walkera-Big-Lama-MD500-/310218382955?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item483a74de6b#ht_1052wt_732]HP rotor blades[/link] (for the Big Lama) "B-blades" are great for this model
P.P.S. The pics below show my Aluminium case as promised. I didn't resize or anything - and now they work[sm=confused.gif].....must have been the forum misbehaving previously 'cause when I tried loading them before, they would come out H-U-G-E!! (The pics are a little out of focus - sorry all)

Nice case and i yes we will see. i also had to adjust my ball links a little but thats not to much trouble.

its  nice helicopter if ur in zero wind and want to learn and u can crash it pretty hard and not hurt anything after u upgrade to the big lama b blades and direct drive tail from the esky parts.

good luck on the second one.

p.s.  you should of waited and bought the new CB180Z coming out as it has a auto pilot on it

Peter,

We love this heli also and have finally modified it to be TOTALLY BRUSHLESS. It requires a new 2.4 Ghz Walkera 2421-Rx. Your exsiting WK-2401, WK-2402, or WK2801 will work with this new Rx. Check out the video below on how the totally brushless kit flys on the 2.4Ghz Walkera CB180D. The kit requires NO SOLDERING work.
