The book is definitely an eye-opener.....The Russians really liked the Shermans and also liked the fifth of Bourbon some American plant workers tucked into the gun breeches as a "gift" !!
With the collapse of the USSR a lot of information on WWII Soviet Strategy and Tactics is finally emerging. The second part of Loza's book deals with the 1945 Red Army assault on the Japanese Forces occupying Manchuria, code-named "August Storm". Although that particular Campaign only lasted a little over two weeks, it was apparently used as a model for the "Desert Storm" offensive in Gulf War I.
