Default Can setup for WH Extra 300

I would like to know the best setup for using a pipe with a DA50 on this aircraft... it seems to have 3 small holes for a tunnel.. rather than one big one.

Pictures of an installation would be awesome. (much over used word, but I did it anyway)

Thank you.

It is the Extra 300LX Red and Yellow color scheme. 50CC sized 84in wing span... sorry, I don't have any pictures yet. Plane purchased very good condition used (3 flights)... has a DA50 on the nose.

I read the note in the user manual about an installation kit for canisters but did not find any pictures of the kit on the website just the pricing. I have two mufflers from a DA100 of which I was hoping to use one.

Measurements 14-1/2" total length by 2-1/8' OD Inlet is 1" OD x 1-5/8" length (this included is in the total length)

Front exhaust. 5/8" OD x 3-1/4" length. I need a header pipe, silicon and support attachments.

Installing a canister on a 300LX is tough because the wing tube is in the way, one of the reasons we went with the 300 and 260 in later models.

I don't think I can help you much, I have parts (header/coupler/clamps) if you decide you want to give it a try.

We had another idea... thinking about scalloping out a section of the muffler at the intersection with the wing tube and rolling a small alum plate and welding it back into the muffler can.. I have not opened up the bottom of the plane yet, so I am not sure how much I would need.

Is that the method you were referring to as "tough"

What is the covering... standard monocoat or do you guys use something else?

Covering on that plane is Ultracoat.

What you refer to is one way to do it. If you have the ability to work with lightweight aluminum then hopping over the wing tube is one way to do it.

I think that it would be much less work to stay on the low side (Planes bottom) of the wing tube. In looking at jumping over the wing tube... you mean running the muffler partly exposed?
