Default What Hinge Points for Baby Edge??

Hi,

I just opened my Box on my new Edge 540
been all through it and am yet to find any hinges!
Keen to press on, I'm wondering what make and size the hinges the holes are drilled for?

Regards,

Steve

Normally for the large Robarts. IF they don't fit just run a 3/16" drill through the holes.

Some of the planes were drilled for the smaller hinges but the large ones are preferred.

There should be s hipment on the way to Probuild soon. Sorry about the confusion.

Ah Ok Tom, Thanks.

Are they Robart 309? or Robart 308?

The large ones are the 3/16" which are the 309 and the smaller ones are the 1/8" which are the 308.

Tom I just typed out a huge PM which got rejected..

I have other stuff missing from my kit

Engine mount, UC plate screws, cowl screws, tailplane screws, tailwheel springs, 6-32 control horn studding or bolts

My hardware pack only has 2 M4 screws, 6 self tappers and a few washers/nuts. This cant be right?

Keen to get started, I cannot find US threaded stuff like 6-32 over here.

I'm keen to get started, but cannot affix the cowl as yet.

Regards,

Steve

The planes that went to the UK distributor went without hinges. The builder shipped out a supply a couple days ago. Please contact Probuild, they will have hinges for you in a few days.

The plane does not come with an engine mount unless the distributor supplies it. We put one in our HW kits which are extra cost. Nor does it include the control horns or any other hardware.

If you want to buy the complete HW kit I can send one by EMS, please contact me by email [email protected].

The plane should have included 12 4mm screws for cowl, wings, landing gear, and h-stabs, plus 4 M4 lock nuts and washers for the landing gear and more washers for h-stab and cowl. If they were not there (as you have stated) I can send them, but it will take ten days to get there, they are available for very little cost at most hardware stores.

I apologize that they are missing, those planes were shipped direct from Thailand to England and apparently the builder left yours out.

I will send a supply of tailwheel springs and M4 screws to Probuild so they have a supply but that will take 10 days to get there.

Thanks Tom!

Please ammend the instructions that read 'Mount the engine on the supplied mount' if there is no mount included. There is also no mount listed in the add-on hardware kit.

yes I also have only 2 4mm screws, no tailwheel spring

Thanks for your help.. I can wait 10 days.. I've emailed my details....

Tom, be clear these are only minor niggles on an otherwise superbly presented kit.

Regards,

Steve

So, to be clear... does the kit sans hardware pack come with hinges?

I am putting together a list of necessary hardware. I would like to get the WH pack, but cannot see paying for a motor mount and wheels that I won't use.

Anyway, I need to know if I need to add Robart 3/16" HingePoints to my list...

The plane comes with hinges. If you order the HW kit for glow it comes with a mount. If you order it for gas it does not since it probably is not needed.
