RE: Da 50 with mejilik 23 x 8
My guess would be around 6500 rpm. I tested a 3mm TOC-53 at 6400 rpm with a Mejzlik 23-10, a DA-50 has about equal power so the 23-8 ought to be just a touch higher rpm.
Why, what did you get and what did you expect?

I tached my DA50 with same muffler and a 23-8 PT prop. The PT
is lighter than the Mejzlik and I read 6900 rpms. I am current using
the DA in a 30% Yak and have found that the Mejzlik 22-8 gives much
better vertical performance. This may help you decide.

RE: Da 50 with mejilik 23 x 8
I just switched form a 3w 22 x8 to the mejilick 23 x8 and switched form the break in fuel to the 50:1. I was getting apprx. 6300 -6400 rpm with the 23 x 8. Should I lean it out more or let it be....

I run this prop with stock exhaust and get right at 6900, 40:1 gas mix. Motor is several years old. I wouldn't expect more than 6700 with a wrap around muffler, they do restrict the motor some compared to stock.

I would run the motor without leaning it out, and see what it does. It
should not quit running because of the reduction of oil in your mixture.
Any tunig that you do should be a minimum amount at a time. Like one-
16th on the needles. If transition from loww RPM to high RPM is smooth,
then the low end is good. If the motor doesn't sound right at high RPMS,
then make the small changes to the high end.

on the ground, transition from low to high seems slow-slugish, but no stuttering. With a wood 22 x 8 and the old fuel mix throttle response was a lot quicker.
