RE: WildHare 35% Extra 300 Build
The Extra 300 is a wonderful airplane. I have not promoted it much so not many people know about it.
A lot of people don't understand that an Extra 300 is the same plane as an Extra 260 except it has a longer canopy. That's really the only difference.
Guys who have been flying this plane and its parent 41% Extra 300 tell me that on a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 9.5 for IMAC and a 10+ for 3d. It isd probably the finest 3d plane on the market, and that comes from several customers.
It has pocket hinges, CF wing and stab tubes, cowl ring, all the latest goodies.

Not at all, the Sukhoi is also a very nice plane, it uses basically the same wings and hinging. The difference is the Sukhoi is a little smaller and more agile, whereas the Extra is graceful and smooth. Both still retain the extreme control authority needed for excellent 3D.

tom,
last question i'm sure with the servo package you have for this plane would it be possible to substitute the 8711 for a 5955 rudder servo and if so any cost differance?

RE: WildHare 35% Extra 300 Build
PSP wheel pant support brackets ?
How did you install them ? I am trying to follow their instructions and am baffled with them... As I have done in the past... I placed a ply on both sides of the wheel Pant. and mount the wheel with collars on both sides of the wheel... drill two holes in the gear besides the greer nut and install small bolts o prevent the wheel pant from rotating.
PSP's instructions say to drill a 9/16"hole in the wheel pant so the hex part of axles goes thru the wheel pant on the gear side only. Is this right? Also is it the intent to use two support brackets per wheel?
As you can see I am confused.... does anyone have a picture of the PSP wheel brackets installed in the wheel pant per their instructions or how did you mount them in the WildHare 35% Extra 300 ?

Never used them, don't see a need. The gear has two small holes in it, just mount the wheel pant against the gear and use 4-40x1/2" screws with blind nuts inside the gear. I've done literally dozens of planes this way. Use a wheel collar on the inside to hold the wheel away from the gear and center it in the wheel pant.
