Hey Randy. I just finished mine up. Mine came in just a touch under 28 lbs. I have a DL 100 on it with stock mufflers, 2 A123 2300 mah battery packs, 2 servos per aileron. I tryed to keep it as light as i could without scrimping. Sorry, I don't have a digital camera to take some pics. I keep wanting to buy one but I keep buying planes instead!
Mine is ready to maiden but I need to wait for the weather to warm a bit. Hopefully tomorrow

just finished the build on my 35% extra 260 today i installed the mtd cans from tom 2 tbm 123 1 froemco on the ignition 2 servos on each wing, no limitz 5" spinner, 27-10 zoar prop ,hanger 9 pilot ,dash from tom.it kept it light as i could nothing extra.now i was telling my buliding buddy this thing fells kind of heavy.so i told him that it was probbaly about 27 - 28 pounds at the most.so when we finished we broke out the digital scales well what saw made me kind of sick this planes all up weight was 33 pounnds.so i told him this scale cant be wright.so we broke the second scale and guess what 33 pound.ok did i just get the heavy plane or did i do somthing wrong.i bought this plane to do imacc with but at this weight i dont think it will pull its self threw snaps to well.i will fly it sunday.i guess we will see.thanks greg[>:]

tom i just dont know i used two digital scales and both scales read the same.but on the other hand i madien it today in 15 to 25 mph winds and i was impressed with the perfomace.i didnt to a hole lot but i did do some slow rollers, knife edges dead on,good up lines, and pull out from hover looked good. ok tom how do you weigh your planes,we used two differnt digital scales house scales.what i will do is weigh it and take a picture of the plane on the scale and send it to you.

Dont use house scales to weigh your p[lane it leads to some anger lol. My buddy weighed his QQ yak and got pissed cause the scale said 30 pounds but when we weighed the thing with a real scale it came to 27.5. House scales just aren't very accurate.

Mine came in right at 27.9. That's with a DL 100, stock mufflers, 2 A123's and the Dave Brown 5'' spinner. I tried to keep it as basic and light as I could. I could go with a carbon fiber spinner and tail wheel and lighten it up some but that will be down the road aways. I can put mine in a hover then punch it and it'll just keep going as far as I want it to, and that's at 5400 ft in elevation. I only have about a gal of fuel through it and am running a Zoar 27X10 prop on it for break in. If I switch to a 28X10 after break in I think it'll get even better

Im eager to see all of the setup, you said it had good pull out of a hover? I would say it cant possibly be 33# and still have good pull out could it?

all the weight i see are dry.

are you weighing the plane fueled?

Hey 3Dlawns I think Tom weight Is all Up minus Fuel, and if I understand your post corectly you have the plane fueled ? most people weigh their planes minus fuel.
Hope that helps.

32 oz of gas weighs between 1.5 and 1.6 pounds depending on temp.

so 24 to 25.6 oz

Because fluid oz and weight in oz are different things

I'm going to have to chime in here, first I would like to see some pics of your plane. Something just does'nt add up here, if everyone else is coming in at 27-28lbs I can't see anyway possible how your plane is almost 4-5lb heavier! Let's see some pictures of both planes, a picture is worth a thousand words.

here we go with the pictures, what you see in the pictures i used a light weight piece of ruler to mount my batteries to,then i used a6mm piece of depron foam to mount my reciever to.we also raised the rudder servo to let the rudder cables pass over the reciever.we also baffeled the engine and louverd the bottom of the cowl.

3d... The plane looks great! You got the same cover scheme I did. What do you have your reciever mounted on? Mine is mounted right next to my rudder servo and I have my 2 A123's mounted next to my fuel tank.
Wish I had some pics to post, I'll work on that

that is a 6mm piece of depron that i had left over from my yard bird park jet what i did was i glued two pieces of wood stock at a 90 degree angle with some fuel tubing on top of that then i glued down some velcro and slid the antennas in and atached the reciver. i did that to keep it away from the heat of the cans.i didndt want a lock out dew to over heating of the reciver.i tried to keep the install as neat and clean and light as possable.im a bet of a neat freak.

Where did your cg come out? Mine is at the front edge of the wing tube. Just a touch nose heavy. I have a 4.8 battery behind the firewall for the ignition and everything but the reciever and rudder servo toward the front
