Default Wren 44 Gold Adj Flow Control Setting

I am getting ready to start my Wrem 44 Gold for the first time and needed to know how many turns should the adjustable propane flow control be turned?

Have you read the manual? Both the Wren 54 and Supersport manuals say that 1 to 1 1/2 turns is normal. Mine both work at about 1 1/4 turns. My quess is that the smaller sized 44 would want something less.

Make sure that your glow plug element is pulled out at least one full coil. Remove the glow plug and initiate a start with the wires connected to the plug. Make sure your battery is fully charged. The glow plug should glow brightly. If not increase the GLOW parameter. About 32 is right for a McCoy plug or the one that comes with the engine, or about 40 if you're using a Rossi.

If it doesn't light off usually it's due to too much propane. You'll have to play with it a bit until you find the sweet spot. I'd suggest starting at about 3/4 turns and go from there.

Are you using Powermax or propane?

The 44 does not like much propane. Best to close the valve all the way, initiate a start and slowly open until you hear a "pop"
