Default failure to take off

Hi im new to all this so be gentle.

I recently got an Erazor450 and I am struggling to get it to lift off the ground. Even at full throttle it just gets enough lift to let the helicopter turn but never actually leaves the ground. Ive tried adjusting things as far as im comfortable with doing without getting some decent advice and nothing seems to work.

Also when im adjusting the rudd mix/gyro sensitivity the tail rotor seems to jump from the middle position to extreme left as i turn the V1 knob past 12 o clock very slightly. Is this normal??

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as i want to get this thing in the air.
